Hi ladies, I have just been going over our journey so far which is 2 years with no bfp and a diagnosis of unexplained infertility. I just had a bit of a cry too. I am so fed up with it all.

We've done all the routine tests inc hycosy, etc all completely normal. All the gps we've seen (cos you never see the same one twice where we are) seem to push us at iui or ivf next.

I don't think this is right and I think there must be more testing we can do maybe only offered privately but I'm willing to pay. The last thing I want is to head into ivf with no idea if it is even possible for it to work.

I heard of e-tegrity at the bridge clinic in London are there any other tests that people could tell me about?

Thanks ladies I would really appreciate your input feeling frustrated xx

Our clinic doesn't do further testing until 2 failed IVF cycles. I'm currently having tests for Natural Killer cells, Thrombotic risk and Anticardiolipin antibodies!

We got as far as good embryos for IVF but they didn't implant. There's also chromosome tests you can get.

Thanks blueflower, I will bring them up at next consultation. I spoke to a lovely nurse today on infertility network uk who also made me feel better about it all.

They didn't mince words when they came up with name Natural Killer Cells did they?! Thanks fertility scientists, that exactly what we need to hear! Hope all goes ok for you, I have my fingers crossed all will be well.

Going to have a phone app with my gp tomorrow to work out what to do from here xx

Thank you. It's not as bad as it sounds, apparently NK cells are found elsewhere in the body so might have been named before their involvement in implantation was discovered!
Good luck tomorrow!

Have you had pelvic scans? laparoscopy or hysteroscopy? It could be an avenue worth investigating. I assume all bloods and SA are normal? I thought the next step after that along with the hycosy/HSG was a laparoscopy so you may be able to get that done on the NHS too xx

thanks lisey, I'll ask. I had the impression the lap was used with suspected endometriosis..which I have no indication of but could be mild I guess. And yes bloods scans and everything else normal. I could win a flippin prize for my uterus on paper! Pity it just won't co-operate. Xx

My hsg was ambiguous and because I often had painful heavy periods I was referred for a lap and it showed endo, an ovary stuck to my stomach and tubal problems! So worth doing I guess...I'm not I would have been referred without the suspicions something wasn't right xx

I thought it was done as a next step after everything else, regardless of endo signs but I could be totally wrong about that, worth asking though I guess xx

I didn't have a lap as my hsg was clear ? Worth asking to make sure they have looked at everything x

Maybe it is only if there is something they want to look into more then. I had mine because of pain from endometriosis so mine wasn't done under fertility (I wasn't entitled under fertility as have a child), the gynae department agreed to do mine xx

I had one because they were unable to do the HSG the first time although I think some people have them instead of an HSG or for a more thorough check of the whole area.

Well I'll definitely ask about it...let you know what they say. Didn't get a chance to even sort out a phone appointment this week as I have a stupidly stressful job...day off tomorrow so time to do all these things. There is nowhere in my work to even have a private phone call...I have to race out to sit in the car!

Well had my phone app with my new gp who has zero people skills. We just moved so are in a new practice but will have to change doc I think..she makes you feel like you are stressing her out and taking up her time and she would really rather be doing something else (we patients are very annoying). Anyway she said that the results from the tests I had done didn't warrent any further lap and dye or anything and the genetics testing was only done after miscarriages. Basically I am done with nhs testing. I can only get referred in 6 months for nhs ac so have booked into some open days at clinics to see if anything else is worth doing like that e-tegrity test. And now I'm going to open a bottle of wine. that seems to get loads of people pregnant...

Haha! I'm on the wine too! Your GP sounds rubbish! Yes have a look at private clinics, its much quicker. X

Btw I love the way you get called a pf enthusiast on this forum once you've been on it a while. As if it's a fun hobby!

Haha! I suppose if you've been on the Baby & Parenting threads for a while you might be enthusiastic! But we're not on the LTTTC boards out of enthusiasm!
