hi i was admitted to hospital today with very sharp pains in my stomach, bad back pain and a lot of urine leakage from my drs.I was originally examined by a midwife who asked to see my panty liner pad when i had been to the toilet which i didnt mind as she didnt watch me change pads or anything.I was given a huge maternity pad and told to rest for a few hours. When the dr came to see if my waters had broken he asked me to strip down and show him my pad.Although there was a midwife present i felt very undignified stripping off and peeling off a huge maternity pad to show to a male dr while they were stood watching me.I thought they left the room and left you to get comfortable undressing and getting yourself ready for an internal. Also while he put some metal things inside me to take a sample the midwife held a massive torch trying to peer up and look which i wasnt expecting.Am i being oversensitive or should i have asked the dr and midwife to leave while i undressed and got ready instead of them stood staring at me while i held my maternity pad up to them with no pants on?

That does seem awfully harsh hun and you had every right to demand some privacy and a right to your dignity. I'm so sorry to hear you had such an unpleasant experience

Thats horrible hun. Im really shocked over that. Like Miracle babe said you have every right to demand privacy. Awww hun thats not on at all :( ............. xx

thanks everyone i thought it was me being oversensitive and my husband couldnt see why i was so upset yesterday so that made me feel worse.

I dont think that's right at all hun and i would have been upset too. Actually i would have asked them to leave i think. You have a right to your privacy, lord knows pregnancy is undignified enough as it is!

That's horrrible, I would have cried!

When I had a bleed they left the room for me to undress but the midwife did have a big torch which was kind of embarrassing!

Is everything ok though? Are you and Baby ok?

Babies fine (waters hadnt broken)but i still have sharp pains in my stomach which they dont know whats causing all the pain.I have to go back next week but i am really concerned.
