hi ladies..... my little man was born 10 days ago and i had to have stitches as i tore. ihad drank too much water and not had a wee in labour so they had to catheterise me whilst i was pushing babys head out as my bladder was preventing him coming out xxx anyways i tore and had seven stiches around my outer labia and urethra. now its healing its mega itchy and it feels really tight. also around my clitoris( tmi) its mega sensitive ans i cant touch it at all.....will it eventuallly go back to as normal as can be? xxx

Congrats on the birth of your baby!

It is quite normal for stitches to feel itchy and tight as the tissue starts to knit together again. It can take a few weeks for things to heal - I was cut rather than tore so not sure what differences that means regarding healing.

Is your MW still seeing you? If so you could ask them to have a look or give your gp a call if you are concerned - but its still early days. xx

yeah mw came for last time today and hecked em she said all is healing well xxx feel like im having nerve pain tho in my fairy x

I had an episiotomy and small tear. I felt like I had nerve pain too, I had to have antibiotics though for an infection and since then not had it since

Hiya. Congrats on your birth.
I am sure it will settle down, although it doesn't feel like it now.
Your MW checked too :)
Just a bit of time. Itching is normal and a good sign, stitches will be dissolving too.
Hope it feels better soon :)

Hi had my baby 8 weeks ago now I had exactly the same as you!!! For me it has all gone now so fingers crossed it won't be too long for you either. And congratulations xxx

thankyou ladies xxxxx a week on and my fairy is feeling mucho better thankgod!!!! xxxxx

when i gave birth to my LO his head got stuck and they were just about to cut me but i tore. i had a 2nd degree tear and that took a few weeks to heal. I was told it was better to tear than be cut as it is easier for them to stitch and heals quicker. I must admit i felt huge down there for a good few days after and it did take a while to get back to normal. As long as the midwife is happy then i wouldn't worry unless it starts to bleed or show signs of infection.
In the mean time enjoy your new bundle of joy :) xxx
