UK Private Fertility Tests & NHS

Hi Soffphie, I hope you don’t mind me sharing my experience. I had tests done for recurrent miscarriage so slightly different but I underwent private tests after not really getting a good service from the nhs and my local hospital. The private tests covered more than the nhs tests and found some things that could be treated. But I did then struggle to get the nhs to treat those things. I was privately prescribed thyroxine for my thyroid which my gp quite quickly agreed to prescribe on the nhs, but I think that’s because the cost of that medication is quite low. However I have to take clexane injections throughout pregnancy and my gp wouldn’t give me a prescription telling me to ask the midwife, the midwife wouldn’t give me a prescription and said I’d need to ask the hospital, I finally got an nhs prescription for it when I saw a consultant but had to pay privately for that until then and that medication is quite expensive. That might just be my experience though and probably depends on your gp, hospital etc.

yeh, see i have a horrible feeling it would be a case of well you went off and afforded private dont come back to us -
