Hello everyone,

I am a new member here. I started taking clomid (5days) and visited doctor on CD10. She saw two 13mm follicles in the left ovary. These two follicles were so close to each other it looked like one large one but there was two.

My question is - what are the changes that the two follicules keep growing together until they are mature? What are the changes for having twins?

Thank you!

If you have two follicles and they both mature then you will get two eggs so there will be a higher chance of twins if you conceive.

The nurse should really be explaining the risk of twins to you.

Good luck xx

I know that there is risk and I would love to have twins.

Like I said I would like to know what is the change that both of these two follicles keep growing until mature. Is it possible that one follicle stops growing? Or that one is growing quicker? And how big is the change % of having twins☺️

Is this not something you should be asking the nurse or your consultant?
We aren't professionals we can only give our advice and opinions.

Yes this is exactly what I am looking for - your advice and opinions. I know that you are not professionals here but thanks for letting me know.

No one knows what happens but maybe someone here have some experiences and knows something more about it.

The doctor just said me that there is change of twins but we will see in a few weeks what happens (if something happens at all).

Well I guess borh follicles would have to release a mature egg, and they’d both need a strong swimmer to fertilise them at the same time & then they’d both need to implant !

not sure what the odds on all that lot are ?!

exciting - good luck x

I had two mature and I didn’t get pregnant at all so there is no guarantee either will fertilise.

There is no guarantee both will mature either. You’ve got a few days to wait I’m afraid until you know how many follicles are mature and then it will be up to nature how it goes.
