Twins!!

Hi,

We just found out a couple of hours ago that we’re expecting non identical twins - currently at 6 weeks so saw 2 tiny heartbeats! We will have 3 under 2 years!

Just wondering if anyone else is expecting twins? It would be great to share this crazy journey!

Apparently I was on the lowest dose possible so they don’t want to continue it for another cycle as clearly I just overreact to it.
This cycle I’m trying an fsh injectable called Gonal f. I’m a bit nervous about injecting but they will do a lot more scans and will be able to change the dose daily so hopefully I just get one follicle this time x

Congrats!! Now that my bub is 11 weeks old I wish I had twins hehe. 3 under two will be hard work though! How do you know they’re not identical at only 6 weeks? x

In the scan they saw 2 separate sacs and they said that happens when 2 eggs were fertilised by 2 sperm, they also scanned my ovaries & apparently both came from the left... it’s amazing what they can see/tell it looked like a lot of black fuzziness to me Rx

Thanks Hun, yeh I didn’t even know this was an option, I thought tablets was the only way. I’m glad they’ve found another route before ivf though. X

No, we did this all by ourselves, we had had all the tests & were just waiting for the prescription. Xx

I know, we’re still in shock, we were so sure we couldn’t conceive naturally! Apparently twins aren’t a pcos thing either, just complete fluke.

When do you start your injections? I hope it goes well for you xx

I am hoping that af will arrive this weekend or Monday and then I start the injections on day 2 or 3 of my cycle, I’ve just emailed my clinic actually to confirm what day to start because I can’t remember as I think I was too busy obsessing over how to inject myself to pay attention properly xx

It's a bit of a surprise when they tell you there are two isn't it?!
Also, interesting they said was definitely two eggs and with two sacs and two placentas there is still a 30% chance they could be identical.
How's the morning sickness? (I still get it but it is so much better than week 6-20)

Hi, it’s so nice to meet another expectant twin mum! Are these your first? How are you feeling?

That’s interesting what you said about them still potentially being identical, I have no idea how they tell. It was a massive surprise for us, our dd is a clomid baby & we were told it was unlikely we would conceive naturally- let alone twins!

My morning sickness has been pretty terrible already, I started on anti-sickness medication yesterday & have managed to keep a bit down today, I’m only 6+5 so I guess it’ll get worse before it gets better. How are you getting on? Xx
