Twins?

Now I’m sure this questions wondered a lot & I know I won’t know until the scan but I’m just curious of other ladies experiences. I found out I was pregnant pretty early (see attached testing timeline) & I have this niggling “what if” feeling. I quickly tell myself to stop being stupid though & it’s probably only one but I can’t help think is it possible to get positives that soon. Anyone else had similar experiences & just had one baby?

Thanks for quick reply! In my “real” head I think of course it’s only one, stop being stupid but I’ve just got this other naughty monkey on my shoulder saying “but it could be” haha so just wanted to know other experiences so thank you

I think everyone thinks that if they get an early positive! I got my bfp at 9dpo and proper nausea from 7dpo so people kept saying I'd have twins haha. Just one though.

Alot of people get early positives hun. Just to say though twins are awesome my mum loved having twins we were at the same stages she said the hardest thing was potty training trying to keep us both sat there but it's also amazing growing up as a twin because I've always had my sister there with me

Have you done a blood hcg test at the doctors? Mine dated me as in the 4th week even though I thought I was 3w5d, I would also be interested to find out if it means anything. Though I have heard hcg levels vary a lot between women and even each pregnancy. I have an early scan next week so I should know by then. Are you doing an early scan?

No haven’t had anything. Haven’t got first midwife appointment until 29th November when I’ll be 9w2d. I feel silly asking for anything early as there’s nothing wrong so I’ll just wait until then. It’s more than likely only the one & I just need to ignore the niggle lol.

I got a very early bfp with this pregnancy, around 8dpo based on my 12 week scan, also got 3+ on clearblue digital about 4 days earlier then is expected, had nausea from 7dpo, but it’s just the one in there, hcg levels vary a lot for different women, there’s no way of telling really until you have a scan xx

I'm not in the UK so I obviously got the overkill option of blood tests at 3w5d! It's funny how different systems do it. My friend said she got scanned at least once a month everytime she felt the slightest thing might be wrong but I can see how that can't be an option with the NHS.

I had my HCG done at 4+2 and it put me in the 5th week. I'm just having one baby It CAN mean twins but it can also mean nothing.

Thanks for all replies ladies! I think I just need to put this niggle to bed & stop overthinking lol. I should just accept I’m pregnant & stop thinking about how many it could be lol. Only 3w3d until my midwife appointment which will fly by I think xx

I also got a stronger positive than I would have expected and symptoms early on, and the thought crossed my mind... and this morning I found out my sister in law is expecting twins, and it's really freaked me out! Twins run in my family so that's freaking me out even more... really hope I have just the one in there!

Of course I'd be happy and appreciate it if I had 2, but I don't know how I would handle two at the same time! I also really want to have another baby in a few years time once the first is a little older, but only want to have two in total... so I don't want to say that's me done haha!
