Hi, this is my first time posting to any forum so please bear with me if I am putting this in the wrong place! I have been trying to conceive now for 16 months. I have a 17 year old son & am coming 37 but am longing for another baby. I have had my first appointment with a fertility consultant at my local hospital & am currently getting my bloods tested mid cycle & my husband is due to get tested this week. I have been peeing on sticks every month but never seem to get a positive result. I feel I am definitely ovulating as I get the clear sticky mucus then a couple of days later get cramps in my left side (sometimes right) but have never had a positive result with ovulation sticks. Have any of you experienced this & is it possible to ovulate & not get a smiley face? I torture myself these days & am finding it hard to stay positive. Sorry this is long & I've rambled on a bit. Thanks in advance.

Hi what brand of test do you use and what time of day do you test? x

Hi Belfa

I've used Boots & Sainsburys own brands & Clear Blue digital. I sometimes get a faint line but have ever had a smiley face with the clear blue. I'd test anywhere from 11am to 8pm as I read morning urine isn't best but I'm only testing once a day, expensive to be testing twice a day. Still having slight cramps today. Thanks

I was using the cbfm, the last couple of months I used it I never got a peak. My periods are regular and blood tests confirmed I'm ovulating. It didn't really work for me but they work wonders for a lot people xx

First morning urine works with the digi ones I found but frustratingly I think everyone is different. How regular are your cycles? Have you had any bloods done at the gp? Xx

Hi Karen I use cleablue ones with a smiley face, I ovulate between day 15 and day 23 , normally have EW for 1 or 2 days and then ovulation test goes positive on following afternoon, stays positive next morning and then goes negative that evening. May be worth tracking your temperature as a 2nd method, lots of baby dust to youx
