Hi Apple
I have just turned 35. I have not done any research or read any books. I confided in a friend and she mentioned that my age could be a problem. Felt like frying when she said that. What about you, have you been trying a while. Have you any tips?

As much as people say you fertility does decrease with age, i personally think its 'nonsense' and it will happen when the time is right. Dont get me wrong, 60+ and your probably in trouble

So i would try and remove that negative thought from your mind and crack the hell on like you are 21.

As Char has said in the January thread, 4 months really isnt a long time at alll - it took me a good 4-5 months to get my head around what my body was doing and when we should actually be doing it

You will learn a lot on this forum and the support gets every one through the failed cycles

Do you know how long your cycles are and have you properly used opks?x

Hi IVW
Thank you for your advice.

I have been tracking my cycles since June 2018, they range from 26 days to 32 days. We have been using ovulation sticks as my husband works away so it's tricky. I get a positive usually around day 14.

I can't change my age so there is no point in worrying about it but we will keep doing what we are doing. How long has everyone given it before going to their GP? I read 6 months if your 35+?

I’m 27 and have had been pregnant twice (both ended in mcs though) and each tome it took around 5-6 months to fall pregnant so I wouldn’t worry about the time. It takes a while to come to grips with recognising your bodily ques anyway!

hi April,
Sorry to hear that, our bodies are so complex! I think we always take it for granted because we speak most of our lives trying not to get pregnant that we assume it will happen right away! I work with children and 5 of my colleagues all fell pregnant by accident all in the past 6 months so I guess that amplifies it for me xx

Most gp's wont consider giving you their time to look further into why you arent conceiving until you have been trying for a year, but not sure if your age will effect this - also every GP is different x

Thanks, I think I will just see how things go. Having said that I noticed today AF is late and I took a test and it was negative. I had one day of spotting 11 days post ovulation (if the opk is accurate) A really bad headache and sore boobs. These are all my usual AF triggers but it's been 5 days and still nothing. Still have really sore boobs though. Could a negative be incorrect?

I would assume that a test would pick up a positive if you was 5 days late.
Maybe try and test again in 48 hours. Good Luck x

thanks Chattychar,
Will wait and see how things go over next few days. Good luck this cycle to you

Read the impatient woman's guide to getting pregnant. It gives info on fertility and age. The common thing u hear about fertility decreasing after 35 came from 17th rural france studies! A lot more studies have taken place since then which shows the majority of women can conceive over 35! I have a friend right now who is pregnant with her first child at 40! Feel free to PM me for a further chat xx

Congrats CMACQ on your bfp! How many dpo were you before this even happened? A late + is better then none at all :)

You got a + 5 days after your imp bleed @ 11dpo? So 16dpo + you must have been feeling crazy by then!! Was it a blazing + by then?

That must be so tough. I totally understand how you feel as most of my friends are conceiving atm and it upsets me to the point where I have had to cut myself off from them.
