Hi ladies.

I've recently had a miscarriage (10th Feb to 16 feb)
I've had tests confirmed by hospital that I did miscarrh our first pregnancy.

That was our first time getting pregnant. We had only been trying since December.

After the miscarriage I had another bleed 22nd Feb to 1st March.

All pregnancy tests were still showing positive until 7th March when I had my final blood test from the hospital.

I'm wondering if the 2nd bleed from 22nd Feb could have been my period.
It was similar to a period.

I'm now unsure when I will ovulate... I'm wondering if anyone can tell me how soon after a miscarriage they had a period or ovulated.

Before the miscarriage we found out we were about 3-4 weeks pregnant.

Thanks Nat xxx

Hi,

I’m so sorry for your loss. It’s a horrible situation. I’ve had two miscarriages so understand how you must be feeling.

I personally don’t think the second bleed would of been a period. But I’m no doctor.

Every persons body heals different and periods will likely take a month or two to get regular again.
With my 1st mc my period came back within 4 weeks and came back regular straight away. With my 2nd it took 4 weeks to get my first period but 3-4 months for them to settle and become regular.

Xxx

Hi Nattles,

So sorry to hear of your miscarriage. I hope you’re holding up.

I don’t think that would be a period yet, but it is possible. Mine didn’t return for 4 months after my miscarriage and had my first ‘normal’ period in February since my miscarriage in September. although some people do slip back to routine quickly.

I know you probably want to get on with it but do make sure you give your body and mind time to recover.

Good luck with your ttc journey.

I don't think it was a real period either but as soon as you hcg hits 0, your body will try to restart a normal cycle. I would watch out for ovulation if I were you!x

Thanks for all the support ladies xxx

My hcg level when I had my final blood taken last Thursday was 1. So it's probably dropped to 0 by now I would think.

I'll watch out for signs of ovulation and go from there.

Really strange the hospital couldn't really tell me what they thought the 2nd bleed was either.

Fingers crossed AF comes soon enough...not something I ever thought I'd hear myself say!

Might have a bit of retained product which was still producing some hcg which was evacuated at the end of the month.
I'm waiting for my hcg to go down too, it's been hanging around for a while now. The gynecologist told me she didn't see the retained product on the scan though. It usually has little arteries running through it but that was not the case, I started bleeding an hour or so later. Think it's finally leaving my body!

Let's hope you catch tht egg hun!x

Ah kitana it seems to have been a long wait for you.
Hopefully it's finally out of your system.

I just hope next time we catch the egg it stays put. I don't know how people cope with multiple miscarriages. It's heart breaking xx

Nat, it seems like we are potentially going through the same thing.

I was due my dating scan 19th Feb. We went and there was no heartbeat and baby had not grown since approx 6 weeks, when we had an early scan and actually saw the heartbeat. I'm now 24 days post missed miscarriage (I passed the remains starting the same day after taking drugs to induce it) and I'm still bleeding but unsure if it's AF. Try to stay positive. That's how I've coped. I've taken up yoga, just beginners, but enjoying it and feeling the benefit. I always try to remember, everything happens for a reason. And when it's the right time, it'll happen and it'll be amazing. I have a journal in the TTC journals thread if you want to take a look, we gave 1st baby nickname peanut so I thought we would carry on with the nickname going forward <3

Hey hun, I'm so sorry for your loss, our first time ttc we had a miscarriage it was the hardest thing to go through when you get so excited after such a long time trying too.

Mine was a bit of a weird one tbh, I lost and I bled but only for 2 days and on off heavy by day 3 it sort of was here nor there really. But I got checked out by the hospital, on the Monday to make sure all was OK.

We dtd once on the second week after I lost (not even thinking about trying again really) and by the 3rd week I found out I was pregnant again with my ds now.

I think it all depends on your body, my cycles were so long, I never had really any idea and then low and behold 3 weeks later I'm pregnant again, so again you can never really tell with the body on what it might do (so you could very well go on and ovulate now or it might skip it entirely) .

Trying not to concentrate on getting pregnant helped in the end, I was so worried and when I least expected it, it happened.

Hi Nat,

So sorry for your loss.

i wouldn't rule out it being your period. I suffered a miscarriage in December and my period came back less than a week after I had finished bleeding from the miscarriage and straight back to a normal cycle.

Just a little update.

AF has arrived today. So hopefully that means things are getting back to normal.

Looks like we may have just missed ovulation but it's probably better to have another period before TTC again.

Does anyone use the app Flo? Has it worked for anyone?
When working out first day of your period is spotting classed as FDOP or does it have to been full flow? Slightly confused!

Really hoping we conceive over the next few months.

We've been trying since end of November and seemed to get pregnant pretty quickly so hoping it'll be the same this time round.
This husband and I have agreed to carry on as normal dtd every 2 days so hopefully we'll hit lucky soon.

So sorry for your loss. I had a miscarriage last year and my period took about 6 weeks. I think I was advised not to TTC until after the first period.

Just seen your last post....spotting is not cd1. You need red constant flow I was told.

I don't know about Flo but my experience of apps is that it's good to use opks with them otherwise they can be wrong. Also look out for EWCM as that's one of the best signs you are fertile.

Good luck!

Glad af arrived quickly for you.
I use Flo, it certainly helped me find my way around my cycle when I had my first.
I always count spotting as cd1, as long as it goes straight into full flow, (for me it usually does within a few hours) but flo tells you spotting isn’t.
Good luck!

Thanks sunflower and niknaknoo.

I started spotting Tuesday, wasn't too bad yesterday but full AF has arrived today so would today class as day 1?

I've decided to start trscking everything in Flo app so it's easier than writing everything down.

It's been nearly 6 weeks since the miscarriage and 4 weeks since hormone has completely gone.

My normally period would have arrived on the 31st/1st but looks like it's changed slightly since the miscarriage.

Hoping once I start tracking everything we will hit the right days this time and hopefully conceive soon.

I just can't help thinking that it would be 12 week scan soon if miscarriage hadn't happened :( xx

You might find it takes a month or two to settle. Took 4 months for mine to come back and then 2 months to settle into something normal!
Unfortunately the dates is something we have to deal with, I’m approaching what would have been my due date and I have to say I’ve been quite emotional recently.
But hopefully we’ll get bfps and sticky ones very soon. X
