Trying to help daughter

My daughter is in a same sex relationship, she is 25 with no fertility problems.

3rd IUI has just failed. The clinic said unmediated as she should not have any problems conceiving. After round 2 was unsuccessful they said it’s early days, don't worry. The iui cost £1300 plus each try. Nothing different was done each time, no medication and no scan to check follicles when inseminating the donor sperm.

It looks like IVF is the next step but I can’t help feeling that more could have been done. Am I being unreasonable?

Unbelievably gutted for her right now. Want to help but don’t know how.

Sorry I don't know an awful lot about IUI but I do have a friend who got pregnant by donor sperm through IUI (or similar) and I know it didn't cost anything like that amount each go. However I don't know whereabouts in the world you are so it may be different.

Hers was through a private clinic. She is a single mum and was an opted choice to have a second child

Hope someone can help you with some advice. Wishing your daughter lots of luck and baby dust. Ttc is a very difficult journey x

Three attempts is like only trying for three months in a same-sex relationship, right? So she could be (and probably is) totally fine. I've heard IUIs aren't too expensive, so I'd be looking into the cost of that, it seems very very high. Standard practice before any fertility treatment is to check that she's ovulating and to check hormone levels with a blood test, did they do that at least? If they haven't, I'd say this is a dodgy clinic and I'd be going elsewhere.

I wouldn't jump right into IVF after only 3 attempts at getting pregnant. You wouldn't tell a same-sex couple to try IVF after only 3 attempts.

I am sorry, IUIs have failed. Do you know the reasons? I am not an expert, but if your daughter has not health issues, she should have success with treatment. I would recommend considering acupuncture to increase chances.
