My OH sister let me lend her dopper for the week, any tips on finding it at 9 week? i cant find it xxx

i havent used one so dont know hun but didnt want to read and run. Maybe you can get some info online? Good luck and let us know if you do find it! Maybe its too early? x

Probably hun, im searching now its a summer one and i dont think there very good xxx

Different dopplers work at different stages! I bought one and it says works best from 20w+ Just have to listen v. carefully and if its not there move 2 cm at a time. They say to start 5 cm below the belly button and most are to the right, but mine baby is on the left. Same when she did the scan. It was all on the left of my belly button.

I wouldn't bother at all before tri 2 personally let the midwife find it.

You just worry yourself if you can't find it x

I wouldnt advise using one until around 12-14 weeks plus and thats early to use one. I cant imagin you would find one at only 9 weeks. Midwifes dont use a doppler until 16 weeks plus and they have high tech ones.

Thanks for your replies, i guess i just want some reassurance before the scan :( this one says from 21 week but OH sister found hers at 11 week with it but she is really skinny xxx

Id just leave it for now. I know its harder said than done but unless your in awful pain and bleeding I wouldnt worry. I did constantly but my midwife said unless your in dying pain and bleeding theres nothing she can do. I wouldnt use a doppler because your sooo early it wont pick it up. Your midwife wouldnt try either. If you keep using it your only going to keep worrying if you cant find a heart beat. Any midwife would say when your 9 weeks not to use a doppler xx

with some dopplers it is possible to pick it up fact as i did but with other dopplers they are not strong enough to pick up a tiny heartbeat so dont worry ive never seen one so had to do a search on it lol it does look like its 1 made for when you are further along but if you really do want to keep trying start just above your pubic bone and the heart beat will be really fast much faster than your own, good luck hun

the doppler i use is a hi bebi doppler

We have the Summer one & didn't hear anything until around 18 weeks. They say with most dopplers it's hard to pick up a heartbeat before 17 weeks. Sooooo many people say they can hear it before this time, but most people are actually picking up their own heartbeats.

It's so hard having to wait - but once you see the scan it'll make all the waiting worthwhile.

Sunnyb xxx

I still cant find the heartbeat with my doppler. I would wait another few weeks. I have my scan on Thursday and im not trying again until ive had scan. Im not too worried that ive not found it cos i now have a noticeable bump xx

i only found mine recently.. Plus where the placenta lies can affect it as some peoples placenta is at the front so acts as a barrier

Thanks, im not worrying but am a little bit sometimes if that makes sense lol xxx

i wudnt bother tbh i upset myself trying to find mine so guna leae it for a few weeks :(

week today hun, think im like 3 days earlyer then 11 weeks by my last scan so will see
