hi everyone!
Just wondered if anyone else is having trouble sleeping?

I prefer to fall asleep on my front but that is now proving too uncomfortable so the only other way I can nod off is by lying on my left-hand side. Trouble is, in this position my hip and leg goes completely numb and I am starting to suffer from cramp in my calf and toes!

The same thing happens on this side at work if I sit in the same position for any longer than half an hour so am constantly moving around trying to get comfy... Is there anything I can do to ease the pains and numbness?

Thanks in advance xxx

A pillow between your legs when sleeping always helps - i want to get one of those long ones that you can use for reast feeding afterwards because i seem to have endless aches and pains too! I have taken to sleeping on the sofa a few times a week as i just can't get comfy in bed and sofa supports my back!

I agree, some kind of support between your knees might help - I use firm pillow and it has eliminated my hip and pelvic pain. It might help xx

^^ what they said. I usually sleep on my front too. I find sleeping on my side uncomfortable and usually end up half on my front with a knee bent to keep the weight off the bump but them wake up with a dead arm...thought Id had a stroke the first time it happened! The thing is that my boobs have got so big that if I lie on my front they kind of block the circulation to my arms and I loose feeling in my little finger with pins and needles for ages before I get feeling back! I bet Katie Price never sleeps on her front!!!

Yeah Im having afew problems sleeping now and I usually sleep on my side with a pillow between my legs or just in front of my stomach. At times when I feel really exhausted or have alot of aches and pains I feel more comfortable laying on my back

Hey, like Tiny i usually end up on my front but with my right leg bent up to the side to take the weight off my tummy! I find it really difficult to get comfortable andhave about 20 pillows to prop up various bits! Last pregnancy i got SPD where it felt like my pelvis was falling apart! then i used our spare duvet rolled up tightly like a sausage and kind of slept on my left side with my bump supported by it and it tucked between my things and knees to keep my legs apart! Hmmm... remembering this i'm going to get the spare duvet out tonight!! xx

I have SPD too and am using a V shaped pillow length ways so I get a section under my bump and the rest curves round to support between my legs. Same idea as the duvet! I've also started making a v shape out of pillows at my head to support my neck and upper back so I don't get into too many silly positions as I am getting carpal tunnel problems from awkward positioning. Still not found a comfortable position yet, sitting, standing and lying down is all sore :( Paracetamol before bed helps a bit too.

Ha ha thats so wierd, I have been suffering with carpel tunnel too in my left wrist! wonder if there is any connection with the SPD?? pretty annoying though isnt it! Got my duvet out of the loft anyway much to DH amusement. Managed to wake up my LO as i almost fell out of the hatch too. ooops. all for a good nights sleep! xx
