Tragic...

The dad is in his 30's... lecturer in engineering. Apparently it wasn't his normal routine to drop the baby off at the creche.
Heard this morning that no action will be taken against the dad. The tragedy in itself is his life sentence.

He looks a lovely man - he obviously genuinely forgot, but just how, we will never know. He doesn't know, his wife & all the people that know them doesn't.... everyone is just totally devastated.

Let us learn from it, I guess.

that poor family. its hard to imagine how you forget but he obviously never meant to.

he must be tearing himself apart, and the poor mother. i know he didnt mean to but i dont think i could forgive it - how do you move on when you have him there as a reminder of what happened. no matter how much i loved him i just dont know - pray to god none of us ever have to find out.

i agree nicki - lets hope it was gentle. rest in peace little one.

Freak accident????

Is this anything to do with his position? Joe Public would now be facing at best a neglect charge at worst a murder charge. Disgraceful.

If you left a dog in a car over here the RSPCA would have you in court so fast your feet wouldnt touch the ground and we dont have anywhere near the level of heat CT has.

I agree, it was negligent to leave the kid in the car in the first place.
But i cant honestly understand HOW you can FORGET that you've left your sleeping babe in the car!!
Also if he is a proffesor in a uni then he WOULD have known that he would not have been back to the car for a couple of hours!
I do leave Ewan in the car only on the odd occasion if i know i'm going to be quick i.e just nipping in the local store for some milk, anything else i take him out.

I could never forgive my husband if he did that never!
It is unforgivable, i'm so upset reading that - i've seen dogs come into our vet surgery that have been left in the car and i've seen them die.
I cant begin to imagine what that child went through,

I expect there will be a post morten to see the cause of death.
Surely some one might have heard the child screaming.
