Top tip -When Devon won't open his mouth for solids!

Hi ladies, Sometimes , esp when Devon has been asleep and just woken up, or he really wants milk first as it's past lunchtime, but I want him to have his solids, he will clamp his mouth shut tightly and refuse for a bit till we get going. (I don't think it's any problem with the solids, but he is grumpy or making a stand for boobies!)

Just wanted to tell you, that If I load up the spoon, and then slip the handle of spoon into his hand, (i'm still holding it at this point), he will instantly treat it like any thing he gets in his hand, and sends it straight into his mouth!! We can keep doing that for ages and then dinner goes smoothly.

Thought I would share that incase anyone has the same problem, worth a try

Ella loves holding the spoon, it makes the whole process a lot messier but she's definitely independent and wants to be feeding herself!

I dont think I dare let alanna do it! She is going through a "lets throw EEVERYTHING to see what sound it makes" stage

But ive invented a way to get her going.... Not the choo choo train... or the airplane.....

The drunk seagul! My brother says i can do sounds like one, so i do the noise and she always opens her mouth now!

I let Oscar have the spoon a couple of weeks ago and he rammed it right in his mouth, looked like it hit the back of his throat, then cried hysterically for 5 mins.

Yesterday I let him have the spoon again coz he was getting angry with me feeding him and this time he hit the spoon onto the tray really violently about 3 or 4 times and the food went everywhere lol, then when he put the spoon in his mouth with nothing on it he got even more upset lol
