Bit late on this one, but I know two Ophelias. One gets called 'Offie' by everyone, the other 'Filly'.

Not sure I like either abbreviation though I like the original name! So I guess if you call your daughter Ophelia, you need to come up with an acceptable shortened version before other people do - it WILL get shortened, if not by you, by other children.
 
I know one and she is only ever called Fia (sounds like Tia).

I didn't know her actual name was Ophelia for ages. I actually like Fia, it suits her.
 
We call Ophelia 'Phe Phe' (sounds like fee fee/fi fi) a lot, and always write it that way too, just to be awkward, plus it's also easier for Isaac to pronounce, although he sometimes calls her Bee Bee :)
