We told our Facebook yesterday and I've had this girl I was friends with in secondary school message me and be like are you taking folic and vitamins and look after yourself blah blah - she doesn't even have a child! I mean I'm 13 weeks pregnant I think I know what to take by now!!!

The guys in my office found out today, thankfully they're not as patronizing as some women can be :-P

Wait till ur heavily gone and ur in the que waiting to pay for your food shopping and the biddy infront of you has a rub of the bump  then asks 'do you know what it is yet?' 'How ling have you got left...' ' you look like your ready to pop'

:|

Hate to break it to you but you are now everyone else's property and it is their God given right to pat bump, tell you what you should eat, tell you what you shouldn't eat, tell you what you should do and what you shouldn't and then you every tiny detail and aspect of how you should raise your child from how you feed it to where it should sleep to when you should it shouldn't pick it up!!

Go with it hun!! Listen to the advice and take what you want from it and smile and nod politely at the rest (through gritted teeth!! :-) )

I think I would end up just telling them to mind their own..

Or making an inappropriate joke out of it too!!

"You shouldn't eat that!!"

Me : "Does that mean I should give us smoking weed & taking cocaine too?"

*waits for silence; flicks hair & walks off*

Sorry... Plods off!!

xx

I am so not looking forward to people/strangers asking when I am due etc. I am quite shy and will hate it! Also people touching the bump! Of all the pregnant people I have ever known, I have only ever touched my sisters bump and that was because baby was kicking and I wanted to feel it. x

When I was preg with ds a women at work stood behind me, reached her arms round and grabbed my bump!!!! I was speechless!

I was in a cafe the yesterday (friends with the owner) I told her as we sat down that my boy was going to be a big brother. A few minutes later I went to carry one of the small wooden high chairs, she whipped it out of my hands and said you shouldn't be carrying that. I did think about having been through it all before and that the high chair weighed half of that of my 13 month old who is reluctant to walk so gets carried everywhere.... I think people just forget you are a person and not an incubator. I know that no harm was meant by it, but I did feel a bit redundant

Wish my hubby thought a bit more like her, he let me lug a highchair and my little boy across the cafe last week whilst he stood in the queue playing on his phone! Y

My MIL wont let me pick anything up!!

I'm like "how am I supposed to cook dinner if you wont let me pick up a cooking dish?"

I appreciate it..

But, I don't feel like I cant do things!!

xx

Yayy for coming clean at work WH , weight off your mind x

I agree , wish my hubby would think more!
I will be, pushing pushchair from homebase last week. Bargain £4 Fruit tree hanging on back of pushchair. And son in puschair and 4.5 yr old on buggy board uphill and he carried the other fruit tree!!

I think I'm going to end up arrested! I hate space invaders and nosey people at the best of times. My friend has already brought me a comical t shirt basically saying hands off The bump. I'm hoping as I work in a mainly male environment this will be avoided thank goodness. I know it's hell working with women at the best of times it must be ten fold once a bump is mentioned.
