Hi

Not been on for such a long time but had a little Q,

What age did you put your LO's in a toddler bed? Erin is 19 months and is a great sleeper - she goes to sleep awake and alone in her cot and doesnt make a fuss but I'm not sure if I should do it will she's a bit younger or wait till she's a bit older!!!

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hi

My daughter is 16 months. we have our baby boy coming in a few weeks so eventually when he outgrows his bassinette he will need the crib. So we are going to wait a month when Kiara is 17 months then put her in a toddler bed.
I am not sure how well she will be, she is the same as Erin goes in her crib awake, but am not sure how they would be in a bed as im sure they will crawl out but surely the worst that would happen is they would fall asleep on the floor? Just make sure you have doors or a gate up if you have stairs incase this happens.
I think every child is different and we wont know till the time comes.
Sorry i wasnt much help, hope someone can .

i kept all mine in a cot till they started climbing out then shoved them into a normal bed.

Braydon went into a bed last month so coming up to 19 months
the first nite he kept getting out but after that we have only had one nite where he got out but i just put him bck without speaking to him and he went straight off

I think that most people I know have waited until their LO's are atleast 2 but if you think she is ready you could try her in it.

going to put kacy in a bed after i get back from holiday in september she will be 22 months then i might do it before hand i haven't made up my mind totally

Hi

We took Isaac's bars off his cot bed a few days ago and he is doing brilliantly. We bought a guard rail for the side so he can't roll out and we spent an hour with him playing in his room and teaching him to climb on and off. He fell off once but he got straight back on again. It is so weird seeing him in a proper bed. He isn't a baby anymore! :( Makes me wanna try for another

we did it at 17 months, but it was hard work as she kept getting out of bed, so we had to put a gate on her door, but 2 months on and the gate has gone and when we say its bed time, she just jumps straight into bed.

I put kylie in a toddler bed when she broke her cot.
since then,no problems at bedtime!
:cheer:

we put matthew in the bed as of last saturday as we had a week off work in case we became sleep deprived but he has the same routine and goes down awake and he doesnt get out in the night funny though because we hear him get up and open the door in the mornings! he also goes for naps fine as well and in fact took himself to bed the other day!

He is 17 months

We put jonah in a bed when we moved house, he was coming up to 2.
He used to stand up in it in a morning and shout til we came for him but never try to get off. My DH thought this was really funny as he obviously hadn't realised he could get out on his own. Unfortunatley he showed him how and we now get woken up each morning with jonah knocking on his door shouting YOO-HOO mamdad!

Just turned Rileys cot into a bed, but we have a side guard on and a gate on his door as our bedroon is in the attic. he loves it, freedom to get out and play with toys! Day time naps tend to be his time to play, but he goes to bed once he get bored, or if I put him in his bed a few times, he gets the hint! Sleeps all night too! He kept getting his leg stuck in the bars, god knows how he got them stuck, but was hard to push back. Our little boys growing up! Time for another one!

Big bed after Christmas. he is 18 Months Now, and just started walking, so about right.
