Everything crossed! Hope its moved, I have got my scan for same thing on Thurs so would be good to know what to expect! Keep us posted, enjoy your baby filled day! x
Thanks girls. Will let you know what they do nik!
I'm so impatient the morning has gone soooo slowly my friend is 3 weeks behind me and coming to the same antenatal classes yaaaay! X
That will be really nice - We're not going to do them as husband is never ever here at the mo and really dont want to go by myself !!! What time is your scan? Mine is at 8.30 on thurs morning so at least I shouldnt have to wait! x
It's at 14.10 so leaving the house at 13.45 but it seems to be taking forever lol.
My o/h cant come either and nor can hers so I'm glad we are going together. I would have gone by myself though but it's always nice to have a familiar face there.
Scan should be interesting cause baby currently feels like he/she is trying to dig their way out of there
all went well this afternoon. Pea's growth has slowed luckily and only measuring a week ahead on head and legs (pea is gonna be very bloody tall) and pea's abdomen is pretty much bang on date. My placenta is raised now so no problem for a natural birth
BUT ....... becaue I've already started to dilate he doesn't want me to go back to work really because of a chance of umbilical prolapse. He says it's up to me but I dunno what to do now I don't want to start my matermity leave yet which they will force me to do if I'm signed off sick. Although more importantly I'm not willing to risk the baby's health. FFS
Yeah it's only a desk job, but he was saying that I shouldn't be even driving really. Which came as a big shock to me because no one said this to me before now. I've been driving everywhere and shopping etc so walking round a fair bit, even though it's not been strenuous
My maternity leave would be due to start on 12th December. I am signed off at the moment (due to go back tomorrow). However, if I remain signed off then they will implement my maternity leave on 14th November instead. It'll mean a month off with no baby when I wanted to spend it with the baby when he/she was born x
Sorry just read your last post - are you able to change your maternity start date to right before the due date?
Just that if you could change it to say the 24th December you could go back for a few days now then go sick right up until 28th November?
I'm guessing your work is the same as mine so if you go sick with a maternity related condition in the last 4 weeks before you start maternity your maternity automatically kicks in on the 2nd day. I know it's not much but would give you an extra couple of weeks after baby's here...
Not sure if that makes sense - makes perfect sense in my head but baby brain well and truely here
I don't think that they would let me change them now, I've had to sign something to acknowledge the dates. I wish now I'd chosen closer to my due date to start my mat leave I just was trying to take snow etc into consideration x
Just catching up hun How nice are your work? Maybe they'll let you do what Nickynoo has suggested.
Or you could go back a few days, and then sign off self cert for 7 saying you've got a virus or something non-pregnancy related just to give you an extra week (bad to suggest I know).
Sounds like how I feel about mine atm Just do it hun. I'm starting to think sod them! You get no thanks for going in and not taking sick days that's for sure. I've just had that recent one for 2 days. Only 2 days in 3 years and yet they make a big deal about it. I think the more loyal you are, the more they expect. Go for it
Also, they will put me onto half pay if I take much more sick leave. Since December last year I've had so much time off, with my operation and then when my sister died and having the miscarriage at the same time I was off for 4 months
x
Ah mrs Just do what's best you and lo. At the end of the day, you're both more important than your job. If doc recommends that being at home is best, as much as it sucks, you should prob take his/her advice.xxx
could you dip into next years holidays? I know its best to keep them for when baba is born but I wasnt able to commute anymore so I took 4 weeks of my next years allocation instead of taking early maternity leave
