To Young For Nursery?

Evie will be going to nursery as soon as I find a job.

My mum has only just gone back to work after having my brother (he's 11!) and although she doesn't work because they financially need it she's quite clearly told me that she won't be giving up her job to be my childminder! She's happy to take the role of Nanny but that's it!

OMG.. you have taken my post completely wrong!!! I need to stop replying on here i really do!!!

I didnt mean grandparents shouldnt look after your baby! Bloody hell.. if i had that option i would jump at the chance. Do you honestly think i would rather have my Ollie looked after by a complete stranger?? no chance!

What i MEANT was it annoys me when people ASSUME the grandparents should look after them..

God im having a sh*t day today with ollie crying causing me to cry, i dont need this..now im in tears again!

Oh nori, please don't cry. By her own admission, debecca is a bit fragile at the moment (read her post in Adults) so has perhaps taken your post the wrong way.

I understood what you meant - not assuming they'll look after your child but if they are keen or happy to do so (which is clearly the case for debecca as her MIL/FIL love having Connie), then great.

I hope your day gets better soon.

As Valentine says, I overreacted to your post. Please don't cry, it would be bad to have two of us in tears

On an unrelated note, having looked at a few of your posts regarding the bottlefeeding and the crying when Ollie is crying, have you considered you might have a touch of PND? Obviously I don't know much about your situation and I'm probably being very presumptious but if you have it's better to get it sorted earlier on. Take it from me!!

The last thing I wanted to do was upset anyone

No probs.. I did that test out of interest and i was fine. most of the time im ok (even though i may not sound like it on here!) its just im crap when i dont get any sleep (like most people). The breastfeeding thing did get to me bigtime but having spoken with others it effected them too.

Im sure i'll get over it and will be fine once Ollie is ok.

Its just such an overwhelming thing becoming a mum. I dont think i realised just how much.. If things do get bad i will definately get some counselling. Thanks for the concern and i hope you are ok.

I think 9 months is a good age for going into nursery...

Even though I work from home I am going to put Hannah in nursery 1 or 2 days a week from when she is 7-8 months old as I want her to socialise with other people, babies and carers and not have to totally rely on me all the time. It will help prepare her better for when she goes to pre-school at 3 an eventually to school when she is 5. My mum volunteered to look after her for 1 day a week which she does on a Thursday, she takes her for a walk into town and brings her back in time for me to feed her :)

It has helped me get my independance again and catch up with my work, and I know Hannah is getting a good experience from seeing other people.
