I was just wondering if you think the world is becoming to over the top, i.e. children get more bugs, etc now as we are to clean? You must eat 5 veg/fruit a day.

Im in my early 30's and when I was a kid it was so different and it has never given me any problems.

yes i do think we molly coddle (sp?!) our children too much.
i was in a play area of a leisure centre yesterday with the kids & this lady took her child to the side & was putting that anti-bacterial stuff on his hands, the stuff that you just rub into your hands without needing water!

i couldn't believe it, the poor kid was supposed to be playing & she was worried about what he was gonna pick up! poor boy.
kids should be aloud to be kids & get dirty!!

Yes if you are too strict, I am clean but not over the top.WhenDylan had his bug though i was much more careful as i didn't want him to get anything ontop of what he has got.

There is so much advice out there I think you have to look at it and consider how important it is too you. You can usually find contradicting advice on a lot of things anyway..

my mum used to say 'a little bit of dirt dosnt hurt anyone' and i think this is true. being obsessive about this sort of thing means that the immune system would never hace a chance to become 'immune' to anything if you know what I mean?

Im glad that Im not the only one who has these views. Things are changing all the time arent they, weaning at 4 months now at 6 months. I caught Isabella eating a stone the other day but I said 'oh well I bet that didnt taste to nice'!!!!
