To all the c section ladies

By aftercare was terrible I was given no information as to what I could or couldn't do, not told when I could take my dressing off or anything. I didn't shower got a week for fear of infecting my stitches!

I've had 3 c sections over the course of 5 year and things have been different each time as I had my babies at 3 different hospitals. I has no injections for my 1st, 1 injection for my 2nd and a weeks course of Fragmin for my last baby. Hate the Fragmin, it's awful, sting like a bitch and bruised me so much! I always had the socks though. I only kept them on until our of hosp with the 1st, same with my 2nd but with my 3rd I was told to wear them for 6 weeks!!! I did end up wearing them for a much longer period with my last as it too me much longer to get fully mobile and was have lots of leg pain and I found they helped esp at night. They also all told me to remove my dressing the next day and have a shower to keep the area clean.

I still have a big belly but I expect it's fat and because I've had 3! I did notice though that my stomach was less flabby as such after about 4 weeks xx

im on day 12 and my belly has reduced massively i cant believe it!! i also cant believe how well i feel aswell, i expected to be in bed for weeks really struggling but have been active since day 5 (the day i left hospital) and i do think this has something to do with the weight loss/tummy loss. your womb causes the belly swelling so providing you didnt put too much fat on aswell it should be fully gone by 6 weeks.

also vikki you said about the night sweats, is this something that happens then> cause it keeps happening to me and ive been soooo confused as to why its happening!! i wake up completely soaked all over!

xxxx

Midwife says the sweats are hormonal but I read that it's the bodys way of getting rid of excess water, it's getting better now, just wish my boobs would stop leaking so I can sleep braless lol x

ohh i see!!hope it stops soon! mine are slowing on the leakage front now, still gona keep the bra going a few more days though.

xxxx

I had the injections for a week and did my last two at home to which my last one went funny and bruised. I never had any socks? I had terrible water retention and that took about 3-4 weeks after I come out of hospital to return to normal.

I got infection in my scar through no fault of my own and had antibiotics for a month in total from start to finish of my section as had infection in hospital from my waters.

Bet scared this time but happy as I know sort of what to expect.

mine took around 6 weeks but i had twins! i had 5 day jabs and stomach looks normal in clothes bit flabby when naked! x
