** tmi thread .. But really need advice **

Ladies, I had a sweep on 1st February and was 1cm dilated at the time and cervix soft -3 whatever that means, this morning I got up for a pee, wiped and there it was .. my "show", came back from the hospital today and went for a pee and another bit of show when I wiped, also ever since I had thr sweep I have had nothing but loose bowels, and I mean loose, like I actually thought my waters had broke and gushed out 3 times as it just felt like water but couldnt feel exactly where it was coming from but basically what I'm asking is ....

Is this a sign of labour coming on?

This may be disgusting but it's my first baby and I dont have a clue with any of this so i'm just going to ask anyway, did you know it was just severely watery loose bowels or did you're water go at the same time and you couldnt tell ?

For me it was very loose bowels , my waters didnt go by themselves

hey, yeah id say your probably well on your way, i had exactly the same. my waters broke 2 days before i had her and i had seriously loose bowels. good luck honey xx

eee sounds like things are starting up for you hun. my waters broke and first I thought I was peeing myself but I couldnt feel like I was peeing, does that make sense? Afterwards if I sat on the loo and strained it would come out in gushes like you described. Put a maternity pad on or a nighttime sanitary towel and see if it fills up. Oh and sit on the sofa on a few towels from now on, the rest of your waters could go with a big gush now your waters should be clear though, did you look?

loose bowels is also a sign of labour about to start, your body makes you empty them so you dont poo when baby comes out

I know it was extremely loose bowels but at the time It just sounded like loads of water gushing out but I couldnt feel where it was coming from but (this is mingin), I looked in the toilet to see but with the bowels being so watery and loose I couldnt see if there was anything else apart from that my bowels had emptied. 4 times I have been with loose bowels since arriving home from hospital, everytime I get off the toilet my stomach starts making the noises again, getting ready to send me off to the loo again !! It's driving me insane !! Also every single time I go to the toilet with my bowels, I'm peeing ... or at least ... I THINK i'm peeing (i'm not so sure now with what use are saying with straining etc it comes out) and I dont usually pee as much as this either, even when the baby is really pressing on my bladder. I've deffinately not got any pains ... but my tummy goes hard now and again, and i've also read that you're waters can look like heavy discharge too ??

i think waters just look like waters to be honest, they said to me it doesnt look anything like discharge as its literally water. if the water isnt clear you need to get seen straight away really, put a pad on and see what you get

I just had to go off to the loo again, this time I thought I needed to pee, but something just trickled out, so I wiped and (tmi) I smelled the toilet tissue to see if it smells like urine, I couldnt smell any urine off it ?! I've got a pad on just incase too !!

I guess i'm kind of hoping this is it starting so I dont have to be induced on saturday lol

yeah if its waters youll notice your pad get wet and fill up. do that i reckon for the next hour or 2 and then report back! lol you should ring in if you think its waters and they can check you, when mine went they said they didnt go but they actually had gone! stupid midwives lol. if you dont start contracting within 24 hours they ask you in as risk of infection xx

lol im sure tena lady is fine. Just keep checking it for colour and note how quickly it fills up and you need to change it. Your tightenings could be early contractions, some women dont find them painful....if it is you are one of the lucky ones!! I reckon youre having lots of early signs, Im labour watching youuuuuu!

Sorry for tmi but I couldn't stop pooing while in labour with Lacey! It was awful then when I got to the hospital my mw told me to stop because it was actually the baby coming lol!
I had very loose bowels 2 days before charley that were very painful! Your baby will be here in a couple of days

Well, i went out a little trip to asda with my sister and got out asda,sat down in car and the next thing i just felt fluid coming out, got home, went to toilet and pad wasnt soaking but was wet, smelled of urine though but had a pinky kind of staining on it again too, just a very slight pink. But i'm just putting it down to a urine leakage. I've changed the pad to a fresh one. The bowel movement has subsided for now, it done that this morning too, subsided for a couple of hours then started up again but when it started up again it was a lot worse, hense how I ended up posting about it today as I was a bit unsure of what it could mean! I've had a couple of mild twinges but they only lasted about 5 seconds then dissapeared, havent had anymore! I've had diorrhea for a few days now, but today when I got back from the hospital it was so much worse, extremely watery and actually sometimes didnt know i needed to poop untill I got to the toilet thinking I needed to pee!! I'm not sure if this is early labour or not, I wish it to be but if it's not I go in for my pessary on saturday and that's me kept in now anyway, and if that doesnt work then they will be breaking my waters on the sunday morning, so baby should hopefully be here by the end of the weekend one way or the other lol !

With my baby being measured at only 4lb 8oz, if when he/she arrives and that is right enough, will my baby have to go in an incubator,etc?

I had loose bowels two days in lead up to ks birth. I went to bed with tummy ache and woke with my waters breaking so it.could b normal hun good luck and get some rest just incase it starts soon x x

I fell asleep earlier for a good couple of hour's. Havent had any bowel movement since I got up, just keep feeling like i'm needing to urinate a lot again, I had an accident on a pad earlier on with urination. I havent had that problem for over a week or 2 now, so find it strange that it's happening again. I was getting a little bit of mild periody type feelings in my lower bump but they only came for about 3 mins at most and havent had it since. God know's what's happening !

Sounds like your on your way!I had my show and pinky discharge at around liunchtime and my lo was born the following morning at 6.30 so fingers crossed things get moving!

Went for a walk around town with my OH today, had a pad on, was walking and had to stop as I just felt fluid coming out, went to the toilet's and I could smell the urine but I could see what looked a pinky staining on my pad too, my OH thought it looked more a kind of light lucozade colour. Anyway, afterwards I had a lot a pressure in my lower bump and just felt very uncomfy and kept feeling like I was going to urinate again. Is that normal too ?

As for the bowel movements, they stopped last night and this morning I had to go for a #2 but I felt like I had to strain a bit this time to get it out. I've had a lot of lower bump pressure which goes into my lady bits area for a few minutes then dissapears for a while, then comes back ... all very very mild though just uncomfy!

Really not sure wether things are progressing or not anymore :-s ... i'm extremely confused tbh as all the symptoms I was having were like you all have said "the latent labour phase" and now it just seem's to have changed again :-s

Do you think there's anything wrong?
