Ok, what's the deal with your mucus plug?

Last Sunday I passed 2 large blobs of yellow snot I was 32+6 then. Last night and this morning I passed more big blobs Of snot but this time is brown in colour.
Is a change in colour significant? Should i be worried?

If nothing else is going on then you don't need to be worried. They told me on the phone that it's fine to lose some or all of the plug and not go into labour straight away, and that they don't need to see it! :/ (cringe!) think our bodies are just getting prepared! Sometimes it's just gradual over time for some people and sometimes I think the only sign people get is definate labour signs with no build up What so ever! If you're at all concerned phone your labour ward / or midwife , they will know what's best to do next. Eeeeek our babies will be here soon!! :) x x

Thanks Sugar, just wasn't sure if the change in colour meant anything. I don't remember loosing my plug with my son so this is all new to me.

The brown is likely just old blood and is normal. As long as it's not bright red and you feel ok, that's the main things. As always though, ring your mw if you feel you need to :)

Oooh how exciting Michelle maybee your 38 week premonition is looking good :)

Was going to say the same thing as Kumber, brown is just old blood. Very exciting, you should have a little baby soon then! :D x

Oh my goodness you ladies got very pregnant very fast it seems! I haven't been on here for aaaages! Bet next time you'll have squishy babies so I'll say good luck now! :)

When I had my show it was like that :-/ I would be ringing maternity day care hun just to be on the safe side xx

I would also keep an eye on it, when I had my LO, he arrived early and I lost plug over the timeline of about a week with small contractions, and hospital sent me home. It wasn't until I'd lost a lot of plug though that I really started full labour the day afterward. We're talking really large chunks also! Although I was told small bits and pieces may come away when I lost a little at around 28 weeks as it can grow back!

Still loosing small bits so I mentioned it to my midwife today at my 34 week appointment, told her I have been getting cramps, backache and tightening too but she said its all normal at this stage and too keep an eye on it and if it gets any worse then to call the unit.
