TMI - heavy bleeding 2 weeks post section?

Hi, I hope someone can tell me that this is all fairly normal as I don't remember from last time lol!

I am now 15 days post partum after an emergency section and a placental abruption due to pre eclampsia, I had a pp haemorrhage about 4 hours after my section and lost 2000mls of blood, was finally got under control (with some beautifully heavy handed uterine massage and lots of drugs to contract my uterus) anyway I've had pretty much no bleeding since...

Until tonight, I've started cramping pretty painfully (whilst breast feeding) and just been to the loo and there is quite a bit of bright red blood and some clots the size of 50p pieces. I've put a pad on and it seems to have stopped? Is this normal for 2 weeks pp? Could my uterus just be contracting down again?

I know to call hospital if clots any bigger or if I soak a pad in an hour but don't want to panic if its nothing?

Ive not been in your situation but all I know (for a vaginal birth like me, so could be different) is that if you get a sudden change in the bleeding and in colour then you should seek medical advice. Hope all is ok xx

I would also seek medical advice hun. If only to put your mind at ease? Maybe phone NHS direct and they should guide you on what to do. Hope you're okay x

I had a secondary pph 12 days after having lo. Started passing big clots and deteriorated really quickly. Regardless of size, I'd get it checked out xxx

Thank you ladies! I went to get checked out today. I don't have a temp, my uterus is fairly well contracted and the blood doesn't smell offensive so they aren't too concerned. Have a scan booked for Christmas Eve though and may need a D&C. Had bloods done too as I may need another transfusion and to check for infection. At home now but if I feel unwell at all if bleeding changes or I get a temp I need to go straight back in.... blurgh!

You should get it cheaked out if your having a lot of clots.
but yes its normal to have some clots and bleed heavily and at only 2weeks pp
i bled 10weeks pp after my section.
