Hey

Haven't researched much into CM and the changes through the month....

Been ttc for almost a year now after coming off the pill a year ago. Cycles settled down for 6 months and had a 28 day cycle but the past 3 months it has become quite erratic. Last month was 7 days late with brown goo before my period for 3 days and this cycle I had my normal 1 light day followed by 2 heavy days which is normal for me. BUT this was then followed by 6 days of dark goo

which is really random for me.

I've been "clean" for maybe 4 days now and have now have creamy CM. What's this about?!

Thanks

The creamy CM is a precursor to egg white CM which is clear and slippery. The creamy stuff can still be fertile. Ideally AF should stop and start a bit like a tap. You may be getting the 6 days of dark stuff because your hormones haven't quite balanced yet. I used to get that while I was losing weight. Once you have ovulated your cm should go white and sticky/thick.

BUGGER
My partner works away so seems this is another month we won't be pregnant :(
Thanks

It's worth tracking it all so you have a more accurate picture for next month. Also sometimes women ovulate more than once so it's worth still dtd when you can just in case.

I have this occassionally... but I have endometriosis so that's why for me. Sometimes your body doesn't shed everything at once, so you sometimes get old blood shedding with your next period.

Try not to worry about it... every woman is different. xx

Hey Sunflower :hugs: you mean women can release more than one egg during O? Reason I'm asking is that I think you can only O once every cycle... unless I'm reading your reply all wrong in that case sorry :oooo: xxxx

Hey Kazz...sometimes I also get that, but I've been told it's just old blood that makes its way out the body.

I stand CORRECTED
went and did some reading about it and there have been reported cases of double ovulation in some women.

“It’s been assumed until now that women have just one wave per monthly cycle, leading to one ovulation, but nobody has actually carried out detailed analysis before,” said Roger Pierson, who led the study. “In fact, all the women in our study had at least two waves and 30 per cent of them had three.”

I'm sorry Sunflower I never knew that....thanks for pointing it out, it's mindblowing really :eh:

Yes, it's great. And it seems it's common for women in late 30s and 40s. A lot of the fertility data was taken from 19th century French farmworkers. No one bothered to update the research!
