I need advice from all you domestic Goddesses out there!!

I'm getting myself geared up to wash my new baby clothes - have bought non bio washing liquid and some baby safe fabric conditioner. But most of my clothes are multi coloured and patterned and I'm so worried that the colours will run and I will have ruined them all!! Even if I wash the whites separately, the white suits have bright red embroidery or motifs on them! So what is best to do?? Am thinking of maybe buying some of that 'colour catcher' I've seen advertised?? Or are the colours fast anyway and I should be ok?

Everything looks so gorgeous now, I'll just cry my heart out if I ruin it all, lol xxx

I just put all mine in together on a hand wash cycle which was low temp. They came out great x

Colour catchers are brilliant, I use them all the time as my little boy has tops that have White sleeves & coloured body. I always wash at 30 degrees for these items, as even at low temperatures detergents should work. I always use Ariel non bio as it gets stains out without using harsh stain removal products. I also use Comfort pure as it's suitable for babies & smells lovely. If you get stains on items that are all white then I tend to wash them on a 40 degree wash.
Happy washing!!!!

yeah wash on a low temperture and you should b fine. Embroidered things wont usually run anyway, its usually if its dyed fabric. If u want 2 b on the safe side stick a colour catcher in anyway. x

Oh good thread I've been worried about ruining all her new clothes! Thanks ladies. Need to get colour catchers. X x x x

Yes I agree....think I will wait till I can go into town and get some colour catcher just to be on the safe side. Thanks ladies!! xx

I'm just worried cause mine are mostly multi coloured - like orange and white stripe...now is that dark or light??? LOL xx

I put mine in on a 30 degree wash and use non bio, and fairy fabric softener. I wash colours and whites separately. Amandapanda, orange and white stripes ummmmm lol maybe put it in with colours on a low heat settingxxxxxxxxxxx

I read a tip not to wash absolutely everything you have for newborn as you probably won't get through all the clothes for them to wear or your baby may be huge and you won't be able to return them.

I reckon I'll hold back on a few items as he has loads and if I do need them, bung them in the wash x

we use colour catchers in every wash we do its easier lol
