hi all

we have a 2.5wk old newborn and she hates being in her pram or the car seat

with the car seat we will just persevere and hope that she eventually settles but i'd love some tips for getting her happy in the pram.

we have a bugaboo and are obviously using the bassinet for now. As soon as we put her in and she realises she isnt being cuddled she just screams and no amount of walking will settle her.

help!!!!

thanks

She's 2 and a half weeks old she's spent 9 months in the womb she wants to be close to you. Look up the 4th trimester.
Cuddle your baby because before long she will be bigger and won't want cuddles. Does she have colic because that can be awful for them. My daughter is 4 months old and we spent manier nights and days pacing our house to comfort and settle her.
You could try a comforter or a muslin or something with your smells on it so it feels she is close to you.

assuming she has bad colic as she is regularly unsettled
using infacol before each feed.

i understand she's very young but i want to ensure we overcome any difficulties with buggies and car seats early on before she's old enough to realise which i believe will make these things even harder as opposed to her getting used to it at a younger age.

Obviously if you need to go in the car that's that and she has to go in the car seat but have you considered a sling or carrier instead of the pushchair for a while. Just take a break from the pushchair until she is more settled and adjusted to life. At that age they don't really get used to things they just to be cuddled

Or if you must use the push chair can you incline it slightly to help the colic?

Infacol is ok for wind but didn’t really help with colic for my LG. You want to try colief you buy it over the counter £12! But you can get it on prescription. May be try it first if it helps go to the docs and get it on prescription. After using it she was like a different child! A lot more content. Also we gave her a dummy as we found that helped and then weaned it straight off her when the colic went so around 3 months ish, only took one unsettled night/day. Good luck

For colic we swapped our bottles to mam anti colic total game changer for us.
