Hiya my name is Emma.
Today I found out I was pregnant.)
(Very early days)
I have not told anyone apart from my b.f. So it's good to be able to offload on here.
I was diagnosed with an incompetant cervix in 2006 after loosing our son at 24 weeks.
In 2008 I became preg again and had the stitch put in at 12 weeks...I was also travelling to professor Shennan at the UCL to get my cervix measured and at 21 weeks he discoverered I was just about holding the baby on the stitch and advised high levels of progesterone and bed rest so for 10weeks I lay down and luckily it worked because I had a healthy baby boy at 34wks. )
In the 6 years since my son was born I managed to slip my disc in two places and now on heavy pain relief. I am on gaberpentin and tramadol. I am very concerned about the effect this will have on the baby and am going to see the Dr Moro,to see about coming off it all.
Has anyone else experienced weening off drugs in pregnancy?
Has incompetent cervix procedures improved? In 2008 when I was preg with my son,the only forum was in the usa,so it's fab to have a uk based one.
Was also wondering do most hospitals now measure the cervix because in 2008 I had to travel to London to get it done! I thank my lucky stars for professor shennan who advised bed rest and progesterone,I belive he saved my sons life and stopped another tragic loss. He was pioneering in 2008 I wonder if now all hospitals do it?
Thank you for listening
