Cervix pain? Worried.

Last night I had an incredible pain that I can only describe to be in my cervix. It literally felt like it was ripping open! The pain came in waves every 5 minutes and lasted about an hour. I've had this pain before but it was never to this degree. Anyone know what caused this?

P.S I am starting to get that pain again the now but it is mild at the moment.

I had lots of pelvic/pubic area pain around 32 weeks and thats pretty normal as your body starts to prepare.

I still get them every now and then but not as bad as they used to be.

I think pregnancy brings on all sorts of pains and aches so I wouldn't worry too much its probably normal.

i had something similar and it made me jump, it wasn't what I imagined a contraction but it scared the bejesus out of me and all i can think it was the cervix starting to prepare as they do....
the cervix pains come and go, baby lies on lots of nerves too

Thanks Charlie and Ginnymarie! Doctors have told me I could go premature so when I get feelings like that my mind goes into overdrive!!

i got big stabbing pains there too when i was only about 26 weeks, it was that sore that i shouted out, i didnt do anything about it though, happened a few times that day..
