Think I lost my plug

Just been to the loo and I think my plug has come away (alot of gunk and blood) I have no pains and baby is moving. My midwife is only around every 2 weeks so point calling her. I have a scan Tuesday so might just wait it out if I have no pains ect. God it's all a worry isn't it.

Im 20 weeks. I feel ok at the moment no pains or anything. I'm sure this has happened to a few ladies here and it not been anything. X

Oh my goodness, I think you should go get checked to the hospital Amy.

They wouldn't scan me until tomorrow anyway hope the hospital is useless! I have had something similar at around 9 weeks. I'm wondering if it's anything to do with the uti I've had for the last couple of weeks.

I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure your plug can replenish itself if some of it comes away. If it ever has streaks of blood in it then I think that's the time to be worried as that is all of it out and then there is an increased risk of infection. It's still worth getting checked out tomorrow and defo take it easy today just incase.

Hope you're ok and if you get any more or any other symptoms of early labour take yourself off to a&e xx

You can lose your plug, or some of it. It grows back.

It sounds like your plug, whcih you can lose at any point during pregnancy and it will just regrow xx

It's a relief Amy to know that you can lose your plug but it regrows.

I know it's not ideal but at least you know it's nothing too serious.

Maybe you could try to call MW (or maternity ward?) today just to put your mind at rest?

Thanks everyone I have been fine since and no other worrying symptoms. I phoned the hospital and they were not to concerned. They said just mention it Tuesday and if I get pains ect just go in. X
