Hiya girls

on saturday i had a VERY large amount of discharge i have alot of it any way but this basically poored out of my was horrible.

later that day i had really bad contractions but then they just stopped, i had some more on sunday and they same on monday but not as strong.

saw midwife on tuesday and she seems to think i possible have lost the plug thing, i could really talk to her as my son was being a pain in the backside and she left and now i can't get hold of her.

my questions are:

1. i'm i more likely to delivery him early now?

2. can i still have intercourse with my husband?

i go away on holiday next week

3. what do i do when he come while i'm in france?

PLEASE HELP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

thanks very much bobs xxxxxxxx

I have tried looking up on it and cant find much but it seems that sex would be no because of risk of infection but I'm not sure about no swimming or bathing as well incase of infection.

As for having babe in France I have no idea sorry. But without your waters being broke or bleeding I cant see its a huge possibility that he will. Sorry if this is all wrong but Its just a general guess!

First of all don't panic

If the midwife was really concerned about your early plug loss she would have made sure you were monitored or at least warned you if an early delivery was very probable.

It may be a good idea, for peace of mind, to ring NHS direct and see what they suggest. Either that or book another appointment with a midwife.

If your bubs does decide to come whilst you are in France you will experience a very high level of medical care. Make sure you have your E111 card (or perhaps they are called something different now) and take out travel insurance. This will cover you for all eventualities although I'm sure it won't come to that.

Oh hun! Please don't panic - I know it's easy to say... But first off, you have passed viability so that's one thing, and second of all;

(Just checked this with my Mum as I distinctly remember her mentioning something similar a few weeks ago)...

My Mum lost most of her plug at 14 weeks with my brother and had BH from 16 weeks, she had a good pregnancy other than that and he was born a week over due! It is rare as far as I know but it happens...

You probably haven't lost ALL your plug though hun, so please don't worry  xx
