Can you think of anything we need to do?

might be worth asking around for some boxes, and buy a marker pen, and plenty of black bags to chuck last minute junk into

Check the attic then double check the attic, when we moved 6 days later we had 7 boxes full of stuff sent to use that we had not seen in the corner of the attic, maybe because it was dark and we just had a quick glance and grabbed what we could see.

Hire a skip!!!

When we moved we didn't hire a skip and we threw out so much rubbish that we didn't want to take to the new house that it took us 6 trips in both cars to the nearest tip to dump it all.

I would much rather have spent that time packing that driving to the tip and back!

The other thing I found was that no matter how many boxes we thought we'd need, we actually need double!

Believe me, while packing, it doesnt matter how long you have been in your current place you will find stuff you had forgotten about and dont need anymore and will chuck out so much!

It might be worth starting the process now, go through every cupboard, drawer, nook and cranny and box up things you wont be taking with you.....you might be able to sell some on ebay or offer it on freecycle and it will make moving so much easier!

What we did when we moved, was got a load of BIG envelopes with our new address on and left them at the old house and told the next owners to send off any mail for us once or twice a week, also leaving a load of extra labels.

ive got a massive list to remind me of the various places that need to be informed including lots of websites. happy to e-mail a copy over to you if you tell me your email addy

Its a spreadsheet otherwise I'd just post it up here but it might prompt you to remember a couple of places you've forgotten about.
