Urghhhhhhh after 9 weeks the witch finally returns and OMG :( I am bleeding SOOOO much. I didnt even bleed anywhere near this much after I had James. Its horrid, I dont even want to leave the house. I hope to God this doesnt last. Im hoping that because its 9 odd weeks worth thats the reason its so bad. will go to docs if it doesnt ease soon. Its 3days now and no sign of it slowing. My periods were always quite bad when I was younger but then for the last 5-6yrs they have been fine. Boohoooooooooooooooooooooooooo :( :( :( :( :( :(

Did anyone else get extrememly heavy periods after having a baby?

iv heard they are heavier after a baby... i hope ur not right about the "the more weeks, the heavier it is" theory, coz iv got about 57 weeks worth built up! :(

hope it eases soon!

My first couple were REALLY heavy but they seem to have settled down a bit. Whats weird though is that although there is looooads of blood they are nowhere near as painful...is this because we have experienced labour I wonder?!

Aww no hun :( I've always had painful and heavy periods but since having Harrison they have got worse

mine have got better than they were- less painful and lighter..they did take a few months to settle down though!!

Mine have been really heavy since having Ryan, and also really painful.

Sorry, that's not much help is it

I hope you're feeling a bit better soon. Maybe it'll just be the first few that are bad then they'll settle down

Same here. The only thing that's got worse is my PMT mood swings, though I guess the tiredness brought on by a lively toddler and the work/life balance is to bame for that :)

thanks for your replies ladies

hopefully it settles down a bit soon! My PMT is much better than before...I was horrendous and to be avoided at all costs before

my last period lasted 10 days. It was very heavy. Went the docs for tests (havent got the results yet - buyt obviously nothing serious otherwise id have a letter or somthing by now)
This period (my second after emily) has last 3 days and been light. So im just thinking it must be a one off after a birth...

Mine were really heavy to start with but they are starting to settle now. There still not regular though :wall:

Mine were the same flow (I've always been a 'flooder') but less painful by a mile.

You are a jammy cow though Tilly, I've already had two periods!!!! One bang on 6 weeks one bang on 10. The doctor said I should look on it as a positive because I'm probably very fertile. HA YES because I am clearly having NO MORE CHILDREN EVER. Certainly not 16 like my Grandmother.

ANYWAY sorry hope your period settles down  they suck don't they?

My first one after having Charlie was horrendous and I was away from home staying at the in-laws, it was awful and heavy but not painful. It went on like that for about 5 days and then just suddenly stopped

Hoping it was just a clear out after the birth and next one won't be so bad.

lol @ Bex you flooder

its calmed down alot now, its not painful at all as in cramps but my God I feel like Ive ben kicked right in the fanny, almost as bruised as I felt after having James. Weird!!!

mine was REALLY heavy  :puke: And the pain was terrible. My mum had told me that they were supposed to hurt less after having a baby?? :x I was in bloody agony :(

Aww tilly mine were pretty bad for the first two and felt like i had been kicked too - were so heavy and painful but have now settled and normalish again but still a heavier flow the before with no children.

i felt like everything was gonna fall out all over again on the first few periods i had  proper achey !!!! and heavy ! and even dizzy !
