The knitting thread

Finished front of romper just sleeves and putting it toghether now

Found two great patterns today. One for a hat and cardi set, the other for a hoodie that looks like it's from Gap. My mum's going to work on one while I do the other. Planning on cream for the hat and cardi, and alternate cream and pale brown stripes, each about an inch high for the hoodie.

Hi ladies, I'm a rubbish knitter but I really want to make something other than a scarf or a Barbie sleeping bag! Can you tell me how I sort my tension out as I always end up fighting with my needles :( I'm also a left handed knitter!

Thanks
Emma

I am rubbish with tension too so can't really offer any advice but have you tried YouTube or Google as there is some great instructional videos people have posted which have got me through when I get stuck, there might be one on left handed knitting

I think tension is a common problem with new knitters I try to concentrate on not pulling the thread too much between stitches

I used to knit everything so tight that always had to knit one or two sizes bigger than I actually needed. Suddenly I started to get it right and as MrsMc said just concentrate on not pulling the wool too tight between stitches. Always do the tension test as stated on patterns. x
