I think they take an interest in Mum also to make sure she is coping with everything ok and not struggling. Asking if you have family etc nearby is not a bad thing as it would helpfully mean you had a support network to help out from time to time and that you are not isolated.
My HV has asked lots of Q's of me which I didn't mind. It helped her piece together the picture of what was/is going on and how I was coping with it. Again she offered advice and kept telling me I was doing a great job but I needed to take care of myself more and that LO was doing fine so not to worry.
Don't think she is grilling you, its not a case to see if you are a bad mum or anything, simply so they have a better understanding and can help if need be. They might spot signs of PND or stress that you are not seeing for example. Not saying you have either
