The first signs of reflux are here :(

Aww Dionne, im sorry you had such an unprofessional Dr. Maybe the miserable old man has some frustration built up somewhere ??!!
Well done you for standing your ground, i hope the gaviscon works for Harley xx

Max has suffered with being sick for the last 4 months!!! drives me nuts but he is starting to have good days now, he is on the SMA staydown milk, which doesnt work really and is a nightmare to make up!!! started him on solids about 2 months ago, so i get some nice lumps now!!!!

Just waiting for the day he totally grows out of it, didnt know it was common in prem babies though, Max was 3 weeks 2 days early so maybe that has something to do with it!!

he has now been on cimetidine since about 6-7 weeks old, and within 24 hours of going on it he was like a new baby! cimetidine is the medication they give to people with stomach ulcers. it reduces the amount of stomach acid that is produced - thereby eliminating the pain from the acid reflux. obviously with babies the dose is TINY compared to the adult dose. ruben is on 0.5ml 4 times a day. the GP prescribed it without any further tests, just by what i told her.

Hi Hun, just wanted to give you some info I have found. Cimetidine is basically the same as Rantidine (what damien was on). Cimetidine is a drug designed to treat ulcers, but it has also demonstrated some potential to boost the immune system. It is an anti-histamine drug that works in the stomach, reducing the levels of hydrochloric acid which can cause peptic ulcers by eroding the stomach lining.

Makes interesting reading :)

I use the Omneo Dionne - but dont use gaviscon with it - it is already thickened milk and you cant use both- the docs presribed Heidi it, but I ended up not using it.
