Testing, testing one, two, three.......???

Well, here I am, on New Years Day 2007, I'm 10dpo and I'm testing really early with a First Response Test.

I collect my pee in a cup to make sure I can't do anything wrong and dip the stick in and lie it down.

I take DHs watch with me to time the 3 minutes (determined not to read it outside the time frame!). I have my digital camera ready to capture the result at the correct time, and......

Me and DH can both see a feint line!!! I think it's a BFP!!!!

I've posted the photos for you girls to have a look at, the camera didn't quite capture it as clearly as in real life, it's definitely pink, as wide as the test line, and came up within the 3 minutes!

What do you all think? All opinions very welcome. I'll test again on wednesday.

Don't know what to think, Im kind of stunned really!!

That is defo a faint positive ande a line is a line as they say!!!!

Congratulations!! i had a feeling.... very happy for you. ANd i bet you still can't believe it for a few days... i still can't!!

I'm thinking BFP!

I tested at 9DPO and got a super feint line with some ebay tests... after leaving it for 30-45 mins, the test got darker as it dried out.

I tested with clearblue early the next day and had a def result.

Piglet - thanks, I will test again on wednesday (should have doubled in concentration by then)

Nikkif - no it hasn't sunk in yet. To be honest, I don't think I believe it yet, and don't think I will until I see a nice dark, fat pink line!!

Kirlybird - thanks hun. Good to know you had a similar experinece that resulted in a successful pregnancy!!

I'm so not feeling excited or any different. I think I just have to see a strong positive first. DH is apprehensive, I asked him if he was excited and he said he didn't know what to think. For him, cause the line is feint, it could be negative, he doesn't understand that a line is a line. But he can definitley see the line. Oh, well, these are the limbo days!!

I did have one glass of wine last night, do you think it will have caused any harm?

i know what you mean its hard to be properly excited but it is defo a positive! i tested 1 and 2 days later even though i was going to leave it for 2 days and they line had got stronger...going to still do another on wed to check its getting stronger again!

Believe it girl! i know it is early but you do not get false positives!

It might give us some hope - those of us still waiting to test.....

Hi KJ,

First of all - CONGRATULATIONS! I think that you are preggers mrs!

I can definitely see a line and it looks pretty similar to all three tests I did when I tested 11dpo (in fact, they were so faint, they wouldn't even photograph as well as yours just did) - I would test again on Wednesday if I were you and take care of yourself until then.

When is AF due? Maybe you could do a 'proper' test then?

Any change in the lines since testing?

It will take a while for it to sink in for your OH - don't worry, it's a natural reaction. Oh, and don't worry about the wine - way too early to have done any damage - from what I have read.

Hi Piglet,

well on day of really positive OPK I had dull crampy aches front and back, but not strong,

On day of next positive OPK (but not as strong as the previous one) I woke up to strong cramps and sharp pains in RH side. So even though that wasn't my most positive OPK on that day, I take ovulation as when I woke up to those pains (they only lasted till lunchtime then went away).

1dpo - nothing

2dpo - nothing, but TMI altert - big glob of stretchy/creamy CM late evening!!

3dpo - nothing

4dpo - not much, but increased creamy/watery CM

5dpo - not much, same CM as above

6dpo - not much, same CM as above

7dpo - CM not very much any more. Dull af type aches in lower abdomen (my presumed start of implantation!!). Had to take bra off early evening as felt uncomfortable (very unusual for a not-very-well-endowed girl like me! I love wearing my bras!!).

8dpo - same dull aches, not much CM

9dpo - same dull aches, not much CM. Aches got worse during the evening. Had heartburn/indigestion type pains as well. Boobs possibly fuller although not realyl noticeable.

10dpo - same aches, a same strength as 9dpo. I've not eaten anything yet today, yet I still feel like I have indigestion/heartburn!! Boobs feel fuller in my bra but not noticeabley bigger.

Hope this helps. I think the main thing I want to say is that nothing has been majoirly different. It's easy to think you'll have massive symptoms and it'll be obvious, but it isn't. And to be honest, for the first 6 days post-ov the egg is not even attacehd to you, it's just floating around, so couldn't cause any symptoms. But as it attaches (approx 6-7dpo), that's when I started feeling aches.

Of course, I still need to get my strong BFP, so this may not be the memoirs of a pregnany lady just yet! (but I do hope so!!).

Hi Valentine,

thanks for the advice. My af is due on saturday, if it's the same as my other two since coming off the pill. But they could still be settling down, so that's not for definite.

The lines havent' really changed since testing, just dried out, still visible.

I've got one more first response which I'll use on wednesday, and I've got one of Superdrug's own brand, which I'll use on friday I think. Probably buy a clearlbue digital for saturday. (then I might stop!!).
