Tens machine

Did anyone use one in labour? Really like the idea of them-want as natural birth as poss-dont like the feeling of not being in control so the thought of drugs terrifies me...

Have just read in Mothercare brochure that they cant be used if you have or have had heart rythum probs...I was poorly last year with a viral infection and suffered chest pains and palpatations which hospital said was an "ectopic heart"-basically my heart was beating more than it should..have been well for a year now but do get the occassional palpatation-very infrequent and lasts seconds....

Anyone else had experience like this?? xx

Not had the heart condition but have used a tens. I hated being out of control and the TENS helped me to feel in control. I thought it was fab for early labour and I would use one again.

I would speak to your Dr about whether you should use one or not. xx

check with the doctor - i found mine great, and hired it from the midwife centre.

i tried it with my first labour but i hated having stuff stuck on me so it didn't really work for me.
Mtsister used ut and it worked for her though. Until she needed gas and air that is.
