Temperance Rose.
Thursday i had a sweep, lost plug 6 hours later.
Friday mild period pains all day started 20 minutes apart went to 4 minutes apart, then almost stopped at 9pm.
Woke up at 3.30am with contractions. About 2 minutes apart but not lasting long, phoned hospital who said to go in, told a little fib that i had been up since 2 because i knew they wouldnt want me to go in after only 20 mins at home.
Went in and went to triage. Wet myself or something during a contraction and thought it was waters, had a speculum and mw said it was waters and i was 5cm dialated so sent to delivery.
Got gas and air ..... :) ..... a moment for me to remember i bloody love that stuff. Started talking rubbish dancing, etc for a few hours. Updating facebook and bouncing on my ball quite happy.
Checked at 6am 6cm and waters there. Carried on bouncing and laughing. Pains hurt like a stubbed toe but didnt care on gas and air-- laughed at my own ryme because i was high. Terry told me to stop dancing and act like i was in labour. 10am still no change so midwife burst my waters,
i went from 6cm to 8cm but she could stretch to fully as she was still up there after waters broke.
I stood up to encorage contractions and chatted to midwifes in between. At about 11.15 i said i felt like i was going to push so got back on the bed. Midwifes laughed that between pushing we where still chatting and asked if i was going to break a sweat, i asked them if this was real labour now and she laughed and said it was real all day.
They both said it was very tranquil and wished they where like this in labour and had more like it as they enjoyed the time.
i pushed around six times and Temperance Rose was here. There was one bit that really hurt i think it was the crowning and i screamed so they knew i wasnt messing, i had to stop pushing and blow, they delivered her head and then i had to stop to unwrap her cord, which hurt again because it was like fighting my body, finally got to deliver her body and was a huge relif. Born at 11.35
Took a little bit to deliver the placenta but eventually that came away, no stitches needed!
I loved labour this time it was perfect, unforunatly Temperance ended up in neo natal but thats on another thread (she is fine.)
She weighed 8lb 3oz xx

BTW just read that and it sounds like im gloating. Im not im explaining my positive story and im honest about the bit i found painful which was the pushing part. Hope no one feels im been a dick just think people should know gas and air can work for some people and to keep positive! I only say 6 pushes because it was but that was a bad thing as it may have caused her trip to neo natal so wish that bit was slower even if it was painful x

Its not really a good thing to shout about my obviously massive vagina.

Awh Redbear glad it went so well for you in the end. Sounds like the perfect labour really!!

Congratulations! What a lovely story, it doesn't sound like you're gloating at all! Well done you!

Congrats so glad it went as well as it did. Gives me some hope that a good labour is possible! Your dancing about made me smile :-) glad you went with the name you loved xxx

I found out why i had the song stuck in my head it was on the radio on the way and i didnt realise that 'thrift shop' song i was dancing around saying 'i wear your grandads clothes i look incredable' i even put stupid stuff on facebook i was off my boobies. I read my notes today and the official times - 1st stage of labour 5 hrs 13 minutes. 2nd stage of labour 3 minutes 3rd stage of labour 7 minutes. Explains why she was a bit shocked i knew she came out fast but not in three minutes.... my fanny must just be one big slip and slide! x

Ah redbear what a fab labour story, it's not gloating at all!!! You had a lovely labour and should be proud of yourself! I had a lovely labour also, water birth, no pain relief, and I'm telling every one ha ha! Must admit though I have questioned if it says more about the size of my lady box than my pain threshold ha ha..... I try and make it clear that it really did bloody hurt, my boy didn't just pop out of my lady box without touching the sides ;-) Well done hun xx
