anyone know how many cups of tea you can drink in a day?!!!
Im not a coffee drinker so thats ok.
I have about 2-3 usually, i know it has caffine in it. Also herbal tea? im drinking that at work too, twice a day. some books ive read say that in some countries ppl take them to get rid of unwanted babies  espec if it has in ingrediants which are unknown to us.

I would have thought that was an okay amount of tea to drink. You might find though in a few weeks you go off it anyway. As long as you are drinking loads of water too it should be fine.

A lot of things just didnt taste as they should have when I was pg.

ill drink a cup of water every tea i have then i think.

I seem to remember reading up to 6 cups of tea a day was fine - I wasn't sure what size cup tp use though, so i stuck to 3!
Some herbal teas can have an effect - raspberry leaf tea isn't recommended until the third tri - so I would check the type of tea your having. Camomile is fine, and I expect fruit teas will be fine. Green tea can have more caffine than regular, so again, need to watch this if you drink it.
I never went off tea at all - but I find decaf fine.

All the best
Andrea

decafs fine theres no limit but caffine tea theres a limit as said above think thats about right :)

thaks all, i have just been out to buy some decaf tea.

Firstly please note MOST people have normal healthy pregnancies without worry about food and drink.... But please know the facts so you can make an informed choice... this is what the Yorkhill Childrens hospital researchers Recommend to mum's

PLEASE Don't Drink the decaf any different from the normal tea..

The daily recommended Tea allowance is TWO SMALL CUPS a day.....

The Miscarriage Society recommend you DON'T drink Decaf as there has been NO testing on the chemicals they use to Decaf on the unborn. There has been years of legal battles so now the MC Society recommend be safe not sorry.

The same 2 small cups rule applies to all caffine drinks.... coffee, coke, irn bru etc......

As a mum of 3 angels i feel this information should be passed on to mums to be and not just known to mums who have lost....
Thanks Ladies...

I didnt know that about the decaf, you always assume these things are better but maybe not. Thanks fynemum.

Yeah Laura,
Very upsetting that we only get told when you go to specialists AFTER loss......Same as the folic acid for some mums, although nowadays almost ALL mums to be know they need to take it for at least the very first 9 weeks......Now here's hoping the Caffine thing is learned just as well... maybe it will turn around the rise in miscarriage... simple steps you know?

I'm surprised to hear that (and very sorry for your loss). As far as I was aware, decaf is ok as long as it's done by the swiss water process, which doesn't use harmful chemicals. Most fairtrade products use this process, for example.

Having said that, in this warm weather, I've mostly been drinking water and fruit juice anyway.

oh god! i just bought some. Mayeb in moderation they are ok :?
Ill ask midwife when she calls me for a booking appoitment.
Think ill just stick to water!

That is really interesting about de caf, ill steer clear!! Thanks for that fynemum
