I came off the depo injection 6 almost 7 months ago and have not had a period since. I've had blood tests done which all came back clear and i'm going for an ultrasound this afternoon. But i'm really starting to get stressed. I think i'm more stressed about the fact that my periods have not come back and therefore am clearly not ovulating.

I'm quite an impatient person and I know everyone keeps saying "just be patient it will happen" etc etc...but i'm not a patient person and I cannot get it off my mind.

How do people cope / deal with the wait? :eh:

I don't know but I have been trying for 2 months and I am already feeling like it is forever. I guess we keep on keeping on ! Stay strong !

I think I wouldn't mind so much if I was actually getting a period so I could track it but I've got nothing! Ultrasound showed that everything's fine just my womb lining is thin because of the depo, so just gotta wait...some more!

You will get there, maybe find something else to focus on to pass the time? I am currently selling my flat and house shopping which helps a bit but it will always be at the back of your mind. I have a few friends Who had reflexology and reiki and they fell preggers after that...I might try it if nothing in a few months -worth a shot!

Hi Urban,

This will be my 5th cycle TTC. Believe it or not, for me, it gets easier the more I try. I was so upset this last time when things didn't work out, but the next day I felt so much better and was ready to start up trying again. I just try to keep positive and tell myself that it wasn't meant to be to give birth the month that I would have been due. This time around, I keep thinking, I really don't want to have a baby around Christmas time. But you know what, I'll have him/her WHENEVER I am bless to carry him/her for 9 months. My advice, try to stay focused on the positives. I have wanted to have a baby for the past 3-4 years but my DH wasn't ready. Just keep telling yourself "this month could be the month" and try to not get upset. Don't give up, it has to happen :)

Good luck to you, dear :dust:

Also, are you going to be put on any medications to help regulate your cycle?

I've done 14 cycles, but I had a lot of weight to lose. I cope by constantly focusing on improving my health and weight so I have something to focus on.

I am having a low day today. 6 ppl in my old work ( I changed jobs April 2016) have all just had babies the past 2 months and 3 more due any day. I am fed up reading their posts on fb and it gets me down that I am 33 and have no children but the only thing to do is try be positive and where there is hope...there is always a way. I have only just started end of December and I find it hard too. We just got to believe it will happen for us one day

It's early days alexis. As you say you've only been trying for a couple of months and on average it takes up to 6 months so you have time. 33 is still a good age for you to conceive. Your time will come Hun. I just hope it's soon for you as I know how hard it is to wait! Xx

Sorry you're having a low day Alexis. I definitely have good and bad days! I realised the other day that I've now been off the pill for over 2 years. Although we didn't start TTC at that point, clearly we've been at it far a while! After NTNP for a while, I started tracking my cycles about 9 months ago when we started 'officially' TTC. In my weird head it makes me feel a bit better. GP found out that I had a high prolactin about 18 months ago due to other symptoms so I thought it was important as I probably wasn't ovulating until they started correcting it.

Urban, have you had any blood tests done? It may just be the depo coming out of your system but no periods was one of the problems I had after coming off the pill.

Alexis, I have also started having some reflexology. Completely new for me but thought I would give it a try. Although I'm not convinced it will help directly, I do enjoy it and it's nice to have some relaxing chill time just for me. The reflexologist comes to my house which is nice too. Have also heard good things about acupuncture but have never tried.

I think now I'm just trying to be proactive and look after myself a bit better. I was beating myself up so badly by the end of last year I was just making myself (and OH!) miserable!

We've been trying since 2014 and REALLY trying for the past 10 months (like monitoring temps, taking supplements, etc). I think you just sort of get accustom to it not happening.. some months, like the ones where you're having every symptom in the book, it can be devastating. These forums are great for venting and gathering strength from other women in your position. Just keep on keeping on and have faith your day will come along too.

It took my body a full year after coming off the depo!
I took agnus castus to help bring on my periods which worked in 3 weeks.
My body has been clear of it for 3 monthsish now, and I feel like it too, my sex drive has come back and my skin has cleared up.
