Well, she just texted me saying she's been in hospital since 2, and they can't start yet cos the baby's too active and heartrate is too fast! They have to wait till he's calm. I'm starting this now cos I'm confident it will all get going soon. Lots of labour dust coming your way hun!!

Update 1...
She texted at 9:28pm - having contractions every 5 mins. They sent her OH home at 8pm, said he's not allowed back on delivery until they are 3 mins apart! He is now at home which is 20 mins away.

That's a stupid rule re: OH being sent home! Hope it's not long now!

Baby is here! He arrived at 2:19am named Alfie. This is what she said...

"Alfie J was born at 2:19am weighing a whopping 8lb 10oz. He's gorgeous looks just like daddy. Birth was very traumatic - midwife didn't believe I could be in labour so quickly - refused to check cervix and gave me codeine tabs for pain. Next thing I was pushing and being rushed to delivery - no time for any pain relief. OH only jut made it as he was coming out"

She's coming home tomorrow Well done Jo!! Congrats, glad he's finally here! Make sure you get some well deserved rest in!!!!

Fantastic! Congratulations!

Very similar experience to my youngest DS's birth. The midwife wouldn't listen to me either, also sent Hubby home and he only just made it as I was pushing
