Ladies do you think it's possible for my boy to finally take a pacifier at 6 months?

He has taken them before, different kinds, i've tried them all!! spent so much on them

but he doesn't seem to want it .. he's used to falling a sleep with his bottle and milk and now i'm trying to take that away and he wants to suck something! He started sucking the hands on his teddy bears and he calmed down when he sucked my finger .. so i'm sort of lost

I'm thinking of getting rid of all of them except for the NUK kind .. they are cheaper than MAM if he finally takes them and they look cute

but silicone or latex? i'm not sure which he prefers or if it matters.. when he was younger he fell asleep with one but i had to have a cloth because it always fell out .. and I thought ok if I try the MAM 6+ it will be easier to keep it in it's bigger, it worked but then he got a cold and couldn't breath with it in and now blah .. nothing

any suggestions?

it's so hard like in a car .. when he's crying and nothing can calm him

The only one my two woukd have and the only one my best friends woukd have ( after trying loads and loads) was weirdly the cheap tommee tippee ball like ones, neither of my two will take anything else x x

Yup same here Mrbump the only dummies my kids have ever taken is the tommee tippee cherry dummies. The size makes them easier to keep in their mouths I think.

My eldest would have a dummy constantly. My youngest will only ever take one when he wants to sleep and there is no getting him to take it at any other time!

I'd try and get one of them snuggle blankets, you've got one with tags or them ones with a stuffed little animal and try and get something like that as a soother... I'd can only imagine it be easier not having to take the dummy back of in a years, year and a halves time again! Not to mention once they're ready to start repeating words back not having a dummy will more likely help in speech and therefore just have them say what they want.. We know need to pull dummies out to get words out and he recently got more attached towards it meaning it's now harder to get rid off! Seriously it may not be such a bad thing! Especially at 6 months when they can start playing with toys and have finer mobility in their hands holding onto say a little snuggy blanket or so.. My little boy also drags a massive pillow around because he never had a favourite stuffed one!!

If he doesn't take one then don't force it now - 6 months old and your over the hurdle. What's to say a dummy will sooth him in the car? I'm trying to get the dummy off my son! And will be conscious about giving one to my little girl to be honest!
