WOW they both look cool i love the wee jacket thing that looks so cute but not sure how it would work :?

My sister hired my neices swim suits from the swimming baths :)

I have a jacket like that for Mason (although not in pink!) And I also have one of those car things for Brody!!!

The Jackets are GREAT, well worth the money, she will float yes.

Haven't tried the car yet though, he wriggles too much at the moment.

so if she is in the deep end her head will stay above the water?
with arm bans she didnt and she hates me holding her

I dunno about the jacket thinggy for Dior, but Lydia has one of those inflatable car thinggys (for £1 from the pound shop! bargain!). She has only used it a couple of times as we've not been swimming much, but she LOVED it. She really really loved it.

The ooonly thing is that the bit inbetween the legs kinda goes thin and stringy after she's been sitting in it for a while and ends up wedgy-ing her lol. So then I have to take her out and flatten it again and then pop her back in it. So, a minor inconvenience, but otherwise well worth it.

Sorry Dionne only just saw your question.

With Mason's jacket he does float, yes, they are lower in the water than with the armbands but the jackets are good cos eventually you take out the floats one by one and she learns to stay afloat without them.

My daughter joined the swim school at 20mnths, and they use 'muscles' rather than arm bands. They're polystyrene disks that you put your arm through (like arm bands). She wears 3 on each arm, the idea being that as she progresses she'll go down to 2 per arm. She can happily paddle from one side of the pool to the other unassisted.

The ideal float height is to the chin, with the child's shoulder in the water. I'm unsure about the float vest. I expect she'd bob about like a cork!

I was instructed to let my daughter hold onto me when she wanted (rather than me hold her), and that when holding her hands, keep them a few inches below the surface to keep her shoulder in. It's worked and she's now totally independent in the pool.... won't let me near her.

I bought them from the swim school (www.theswimschool.co.uk) at £9.99 per pair. They come in a selection of colours, and my daughter loves putting them on herself. Good luck.

Damien hates arm bands, I wanna get him a jacket as soon as he's big enough coz he loves the pool :)
