Swapping energy companies?

So I'm with British Gas, I desperately want to switch to someone else, however I don't know 1) how to swap
2) who to swap to
3) I'm in debt with BG-what would happen to this? Would I have to pay it off at once or could I pay off a bit at a time?

Check out on comparison sites for who may be best to swap with everyone is different. I'm with blower and so much better than British gas for me but it's different for everyone. Once you know who you want to swap with call them, sometimes they will transfer the debt over for you and you pay the new provider. They should sort it all out tho x
