If you don't want to formula feed then the fact that LO has put in a good amount if weight (well done mummy!!) is proof enough that LO doesn't need a 'top up'.

What were his reasons for thinking LO needed more? Xx

Just because she is feeding so often - he thinks maybe she isn't getting enough off me and that's why she's hungry xx

LO is just trying to establish supply Hun and will feed little and often because there stomachs are so small. Also breast milk is so much more easily digested than formula so they will feed more frequently.

The first six weeks is about establishing your supply xx

I know but its a shock when she has gone from every 4 hours to every hour lol! I'm persevering and point blank refused to give her formula. My body is made to.do this :) xx

Stick with it hun- you're right our bodies were made to breast feed and you'll produce just exactly what you need- whether you are feeding a big baby or small baby, or whether you feed every hour or every 5 hours.

Just stick with it and your supply will soon be sorted. The first two weeks are meant to be spent sat on the sofa snuggling your LO and having lots if skin to skin and feeds- enjoy it!!

Thanks! I know we'll get a routine going soon :) for now just going to enjoy our cuddle times :) xx

its what theyre programmed to do for the first 4 weeks really hun and they do it again when they have a growth spurt too :)
it dosent mean theyre not getting enough or its not filling enough its just the way theyre supposed to act to make sure that you produce enough milok for them for the future

happy happy happy, arthur is 6 days old today and has put on 5oz :) he was 8'7lb at birth, now he is 8'12 :) so i must be doing something right, xx

Wow! Well done mummy and Arthur - I thought I'd done well with Cathy putting on 3oz! You must have one hungry baby! Xx

Not really, he goes 4hrly, and feeds for 20mins, but cluster feedin today but midwife said it mayve a growth sprout, xx

Wow that's awesome! Apart from the cluster feeding - Cathy has done it yesterday and looks set to do it today too so know how you feel. It'll be interesting to.see how our babies compare being born on the same day :) xx

Im glad they was we can compare everything :) xx
