Superdrug tests

But if Sugarpop could get a positive with just water (I'd try it but don't want to waste the money!!) and I've had 2 tests dipped in same failed ivf fmu urine (1 faint line and 1 completely blank bfn) surely some of these tests have to be faulty?

They promise 99% accurate but it's more like 1% accurate!

I dipped it in water because they were the only ones I was getting + on. I had 2 of them positive and a few FRER that were negative. Also had a blood test which showed my HCG was <1.

May have had a faulty batch but I've certainly never used them again.

You would think that the tests would be subjected to rigorous 'testing'?
I cant imagine how they would have sold them for so long without so much more evidence online of dissatified customers.
I can envisage the odd faulty digital, but I had lines on my tests and 3 positive digitals as the lines got stronger. I also had faint pink lines on Frers.
Granted I didn't show up on a Clearblue digital.

Before I used Superdrug, the same happened with the clear blue earlys. I got faint blue lines but later started to bleed and the lines would disappear.
I thought at one point it was my body, that I had more hcg in general for some reason but then I would get strong positives 10-12 dpo on earlys and positive digitals which then went negative as the lines also began to fade.
This would suggest there is a pattern and the tests are measuring something in my urine at the co ordinating points for fertilisation/implantation.
Since the tests are designed to pick up hcg, I can then only conclude I was pregnant.

Given that oh and I dtd every other day at least, the potential of pregnancy was also good.

If we hadn't dtd at all, then I might be more suspicious of faulty tests. Xx

tree trunks I think that sounds like you have had chemicals defo. Hugs xxx

I think those of us saying we had faulty ones had no lines on any other tests either even other 10miu tests and frers etc xxx

I didn't dip mine in water but I had faint lines on them from 9dpo to 14dpo then bfn frers all that time . Now reading those reviews om the website def sounds like i had some of the faulty ones xx

I didn't get even a very faint line on a frer till my Superdrug early was a strong line.
Even then the Frer was just a squinter at most.
So it would make sense for you to get faint Superdrug earlies but not any other test. And as you tested on days you could have been pregnant, chances are you were pregnant but very very early?
I find it reassuring to see that I can actually conceive, the problem seems to be a little later down the line with implantation and whatever. Xx

Yes, I'm going to take the pregnancy test back to the store that I did 2 months ago lol

But as GG said earlier, 50 % of early pregnancies end, infact im sure I read 70% recently.
So with that given, you could anticipate that with early testing, many women could get positive tests but then not go on to proceed with the pregnancy.
Do I want the option to know then? Well personally yes, I want there to be the option to find out sooner.
Maybe the tests should offer more information regarding statistics.

I dont believe the tests are necessarily inaccurate if done properly.
I have had all shades of line at early stages, plus completely negative.xx

These stats are correct but with the Superdrug tests it seems much .ore often they are just plain inaccurate.

I'm guilty of over testing for sure but I used the same evening urine to test with 1x Superdrug pink dye test & 1x Superdrug digital test plus 1x FRER. The Suoerdrugs were positive and the FRER wasn't. Having had a BFP that same morning using Superdrug K was confused.

The very next morning using FMU I took 2 further tests...the 2nd Superdrug digital which was from the same packet to the one I'd used the night before and a CB Early...both negative.

I understand that 50-70% of pregnancies don't progress and I understand the concept of a chemical pregnancy but I struggle to see such a definitive difference in less the 12 hours, especially as at the point of testing I was 18dpo.

I'm sure many have accurate tests with Superdrug in the same way some will have inaccurate results with other brands, bit it seems having done the digging that Superdrug are actually well known for being inaccurate and producing more false positives than other brands. I just wish I'd know that before choosing them as my brand of choice to test with.

My head has completely spun the last week thanks to these tests.

GP did blood test yesterday, results today confirm definitely not and wasn't pregnant. So wasn't a chemical pregnancy or anything like that.

Definitely 3 false positives from Superdrug. 😔

Xx

So sorry EB xx

Thanks Millie.

Annoyed and sad initially but feeling positive now. I didn't have a little bean in the first place so, not lost anything. Just a bit more knowledgeable thanks to you lovely ladies And, ready to go at it for the next cycle. 😊

Will steer clear of Superdrug from now on to avoid false hope again.

Xxx
