sudafed??!! pain!

i took sudafed yesterday afternoon.. im really bunged up so thought it would be a good idea..untill now.. around 3.30 am i wake up with pain in my sinus' my nose is completly blocked and feel likefrom my eyes to my nose and back to my throat is one solid mass i had my tonsils out when i was 21 and they obviously looked to see if i needed my ananoids out to which he said i was fine.. but ive always had trouble breathing through my nose. ive just taken another sudafed to try to get something to happen coz theres no way i can go bk to bed i cant frigging breath! this is soooooo typical.. Ted hasnt woken yet tonight.. and its 4.15! i bet he will sleep through now! GGRR!!

went bk to bed.. the blockage has cleared a bit in 1 side.. but the other is still blocked completly and still hurtning..feel like death... its giving me a headache it feels so heavy..has anyone had this before?

I had a nasty cold a few weeks ago and I have only just got my sense of smell back. I couldn't breath and it hurt too, just like you described
I used the sudafed 12 hour bad boys and they worked pretty well but you can't have any other tablest with them cause they are suppose to last as long. Why dont you give one of those nasal spray things? and I usually take solphadine max, the dissolvable ones - they really are bad boy, they even work for tooth ache

I dno if its just me, iv got the one side blocked the other feels like a gaping hole in my face, i dont know whether its cus one halfs blocked but it actually hurts to breathe in deeply through my nose lol cant win im moaning i cant breathe through it then im moaning im getting too much air

lisa - get a big bowl of boiling hot water, put a towel over your head and your face over the bowl - so the steam goes to your face - it will help to unblock you do this whenever you feel it getting clogged up.

also - i can recommend the vix sinus spray thingy, the one you spray up your nose, always unblocks my nose really well feel better soon xxx

ooh thanks girls.. i didnt think of the steamy water..hmm.. going to do that b4 beddieibes .. i also feel pain when im breathing if its not better tmro im gonna nip to see the dr.. ask for something..

Put a dollop of vicks vapour rub in the boiling water then inhale - does wonders.

I've got a cold as well as a bad chest infection so I know how miserable you are feeling!! I thought my head was going to explode the other night from the pain of my sinus's. Sudafed goes bugger all for me. Ewan bought me a vapour plug in which has helped a lot. The plug in is about £7, not sure about how much the refills cost though.

sounds like u have sinusitis to me - i used to get this 4 times a year in school. its an infection in the sinuses the only way to cure it is to get a round of antibiotics from ur GP i know how painful it is - see ur gp hun
