Help, we thought we had our baby girls name- we were dead keen on Lillian Gloria. The middle name is staying as it's my husbands mummy's name and is such a glorious name. Lillian was my dad's mum who died when he was 5 so I never met her and in truth I've chosen the name because I loved it, not because of the history.

BUT, I'm still not 100% sure because I adore the name Mollie. There is no history behind it, I just love it and don't know any other Mollies.

The main problem were having with Lillian is we know it will end up being shortened to lily which is extremely popular.

I was calling her that, but I've gone back to referring to her as baby girl :-( just not sure what to do and think we may end up having to wait to see her before deciding.

(We chose my son's name at 20weeks and didn't have a single doubt about his name so knew it was right)

Thanks all x

I think Mollie and Freddie go really well together BUT Mollie is so much more popular than Lillian

We were looking at Elizabeth and we would not have shortened it. No reason that names have to be shortened if you dont want them to be. Most people will call baby what you ask them too.... and baby has the option when she is older of her full name or a short version?
Sorry im no real help

X

Haha that's ok, I'm having the same argument in my head which is why I'm struggling. I really love both names, I don't want to choose a name for her and then wish we'd gone with the other a couple of weeks/months down the line. I know we don't have to choose now, and at least we have it narrowed down to two names.

I do love Freddie and Mollie though :))))

Both of those names are on my list too :) Lillian is my nans middle name and we just liked Mollie. We currently have a short list of about 5 girls names and I sway on which one I like best so we have just decided to wait and see what she looks like if this bundle is pink. I like fact Lillian isn't used as much (I know a couple of mollies although they are not close friends or family) and I think in a lot of ways Lillian is a stronger name.

Sorry I'm not much help though as I love both :) xxx
